Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.

Amanzoe is a 38 all-suite luxury resort and spa, with eight beautiful villas, located on the east coast of the Peloponnese. The resort is set up on a hillside overlooking the bay and offers 360-degree panoramic views out to sea and across the surrounding mountains.

All of the 38 suites feature their own private swimming pool, the Pool Pavilions offer a 6-metre pool and Deluxe Pavilions a 12-metre pool. Pavilions are all free standing and offer guests maximum seclusion as well as stunning views over the surrounding valleys or the glistening Aegean. An outdoor terrace offers the opportunity to sunbathe or indulge in a private dinner during your stay.

The Beach Cabanas are a great option for guests who prefer to stay directly on the beach itself. Each comes with its own private terrace, garden and 9.5-metre swimming pool, and offers direct access to the private sandy beach.

Amanzoe also has a small selection of private villas ranging from four to six bedrooms within the hotel grounds, which are ideal for larger families or guests looking for ultimate seclusion whilst still benefiting from access to the superb hotel facilities. A dedicated chef and host are on-hand to look after villa guests in complete privacy and each villa comes with an outdoor heated pool overlooking the surrounding olive groves.

If you decide to venture out of your room you can head to the hotel's private beach club located a 10-minute drive away from the main hotel. Alternatively, guests can stroll (30 minutes) or jump on the hotel's complimentary mountain bikes for a 10-minute downhill ride to the private beach area. The beach club provides two swimming pools set by the sea, ample sun loungers for guests wishing to relax and a variety of water sports for the more active. The Beach Club restaurant provides a fantastic setting to enjoy an al-fresco lunch by the sea or for refreshments throughout the day.

Dining at Amanzoe consists of contemporary Greek, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. The main restaurant has an outside-inside concept with spectacular views out over the bay and a delicious and fresh Meditteranean menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Pool Restaurant offers a dinner menu of Asian specialities and the Beach Club is more of a meze-style relaxed lunchtime affair with local Greek specialities and fresh seafood.

The Aman Spa has nine treatment rooms, two hammams and a watsu pool. The spa uses its own range of natural skincare products for treatments which range from massages, facials and scrubs to more specialist ancient Greek beauty rituals. The yoga pavilion has breathtaking countryside views and offers private sunrise yoga or Pilates sessions, and for those feeling more energetic, the fitness centre is well equipped and offers personal training sessions for guests. There are also two floodlit tennis courts available at Amanzoe.

Amanzoe is a peaceful, stunning and relaxing retreat, a must for those guests wishing to indulge themselves in luxury and comfort whilst enjoying the delights of this beautiful part of Greece and the panoramic views of the Aegean.

All of the 38 suites feature their own private pool, all Pool Pavilions offer a 6 metre pool and Deluxe Pavilions a 12 metre pool. Pavilions are all free standing and offer guest maximum privacy as well as stunning views over the surrounding valleys or the glistening Aegean Sea. Each pavilion offers a large open plan space consisting of living room and bedroom. Bathrooms are enormous with large walk-in showers and deep sunken baths.

Pool Pavilion

Each 210-square-metre (2,260 square feet) Pool Pavilion offers a six-metre (19.5 feet) private pool set into an expansive terrace. Views are of the Aegean Sea or the Peloponnese countryside. The Pavilions offer spacious open-plan living and sleeping areas while outside there is a terrace shaded by a high pergola.

Deluxe Pool Pavilion

These stunning, private pavilions have their own 12-metre swimming pools. Each pavilion is accessed through a stone-wall courtyard that leads to spacious living and sleeping area with beautiful high ceilings. Beds are positioned in a marble-walled alcove which, together with the living area and bathroom, opens up onto the terrace, shaded by a pergola. The villas are built over different levels to increase privacy and give spectacular views over the Aegean countryside. Rooms are also available to accommodate guests with disabilities.

Beach Cabana

The spacious beach cabanas can be found directly on the beach, literally steps away from the sand. Beach cabanas are air-conditioned and provide all of the comforts of the pavilions, as well as boasting a 9.5-metre private pool and 200-metre garden.

One Bedroom Villa

Villas are located adjacent to the resort, surrounded by olive trees and offering beautiful sea views.

The villas’ open terraces feature sand-coloured marble floor tiles, traditional dry stone-clad walls and grand columns and cornices. The 20- to 25-metre private swimming pools are lined with emerald-coloured marble, and solid timber pergolas provide shade for poolside lounging or alfresco dining. All bedrooms feature his and hers bathrooms and dressing areas in marble and oak. The living room opens out from the dining area and out onto the terrace. All villas come with two dedicated members of staff - one chef and one host - to take care of your every need.

Children are welcome at the hotel. There is no children's club, however, the concierge is happy to arrange family friendly activities and exertions. There is a separate pool and play area and pavilions and villas are well equipped.

Amanzoe offers four dining options. The main restaurant is a beautiful large room with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning sea views. It is fronted by an expansive outdoor terrace designed for al-fresco dining. The Lounge Bar is a more relaxed affair, a great place for a cocktail or two, or a light bite to eat. The Pool Restaurant offers an all-day dining menu. The Beach Club also offers an informal restaurant for lunch.

There is a large choice of activities which you can partake in during your stay at Amanzoe. There are many archaeological sites in the area which are interesting for a cultural day trip and island hopping is also a fun adventure, especially with the large number of uninhabited islets nearby. If you're feeling active, there are several nature treks and mountain bike trails in the area which are worth venturing on to take in the local history and culture. There are also watersports available in the sheltered bays.

To put it simply, Amanzoe is a truly special place, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Peloponnese and offering breathtaking views. The attention to detail is impeccable and the service is fantastic - ask for the staff's recommendations at breakfast and you won't be disappointed! Although it can be difficult to leave your pristine Pavilion or Villa, do make the effort at dusk in order to witness an incredible sunset from the highest point of the hotel.

Amanzoe is a hidden gem on the beautiful Peloponnese coastline with 360-degree panoramic views over the surrounding countryside down to the sea. 2.5 hours drive from Athens or a short helicopter ride make this beautiful hotel a perfect choice for either a long weekend getaway or longer stay. You can spend days exploring the nearby cultural sites of Epidaurus or some of the Unesco archaeological sites surrounding the hotel; chill out at their stunning beach club by the sea; take out one of their boats to go island hopping or just relax on your terrace drinking in the view. The views from their main terrace at sunset are simply stunning and combined with delicious meals served at their two restaurants, the beach club al fresco dining and fantastic Spa this is simply a fabulous place to visit. Pool Pavilions dot the property surrounded by lavender, flowers and views over the olive groves and sea. There are also a selection of beautiful villas for families so something to suit everyone.

Amanzoe really is incredible - from the Acropolis inspired design of the whole resort, the enormous space that comes with each Pavilion, the grounds, the pools and the villas, the food, the service and the facilities, and the beach club bordered by bright turquoise sea - what more could you ask for?!

Last autumn's opening of Aman's third Mediterranean hotel was an immediate success. And the location has everything to do with it: the Argosaronic Gulf of the Peloponnese being both beautiful and home to the superyachts of Greek shipping magnates. Another element that makes it work is the modern interpretation of temple architecture on a spectacular hilltop site; no fewer than 560 pillars stand tall in sunshine refracted with the long pool. Each of the 38 rooms has a private pool-with-a-view that can't be overlooked, and room service reaches the terrace via the garden without passing through the bedroom, rendering clothes optional. Design is light and spacious, with a dash of eccentricity (as in electronic loos - study the instructions carefully). Cooking at the open-air restaurant and the private beach club is modern Greek based on ingredients freshly pulled from sea or earth. Spiced-lobster pizza anyone? Don't depart before experiencing a treatment in the serene spa.
