Deplar Farm is a luxurious retreat hidden in the depths of northern Iceland's Troll Peninsula. The months of March to June are dedicated to heli-skiing; an unforgettable experience for thrill seeking skiers in a unique location.
Ideal for skiers looking for an adrenaline inducing experience, heli-skiing at Deplar Farm is not to be missed. Runs average around 3,000 vertical feet, many down to the ocean with huge couloirs and vast valleys guests can make fresh tracks with spectacular scenery.
The excellent powder quality is attributed to the maritime climate and varies between deep powder and corn snow. It is this, along with 1,500 square miles of skiable terrain and the extended daylight hours, that make this an ideal location for thrill seeking heli-skiers. For the no-fly days there is skiing via snowcat. The experienced guides will tailor tours to the skill levels of guests as well as the weather and snow conditions. They also provide all the equipment needed including avalanche safety equipment and complimentary use of skis that have been specially designed for heli-skiing in Iceland (you will need to bring your own ski boots).
Once a sheep farm in the heart of the scenic Troll Peninsula, today Deplar Farm is a remote getaway with added luxury, and the perfect place for an Icelandic adventure in the snow. The 13 rooms at Deplar Farm all boast a contemporary Nordic style and impeccable design. Natural colors are used throughout to ensure rooms feel bright and airy, and the distinct character of the farm can be felt in each room. While the décor is fairly minimalist the rooms are warm and welcoming thanks to plush fabrics and a bed you'll sink into. Deplar Farm's secluded location means each room offers fantastic views, whether of the dramatic mountains or the peaceful lake.
In Deplar Farm's dining room the meals are designed by the private chef to recharge you after your exhilarating adventures while bringing the surrounding nature to your plate. Fresh produce is provided by local farmers and ingredients are locally-sourced, resulting in a contemporary Icelandic cuisine that celebrates the natural resources of the country.
As well as heli-skiing guests can also explore the area with other activities such as snowshoeing, cross country skiing or go on a whale watching tour. After a day of activities it is a welcome treat to arrive back to Deplar Farm and relax in the spa, soothe your muscles in the Jacuzzi and unwind in the steam bath. And for the ultimate Icelandic experience, float in the geothermally-heated outdoor pool under the midnight sun or watch the Northern Lights dance across the sky.
There are 13 en-suite rooms at Deplar Farm, which can be taken individually or all together as an exclusive-use retreat. Decorated in a contemporary Nordic style, the rooms are minimalist yet warm and a welcoming escape after a day out in the Icelandic countryside. Some rooms offer access to private balconies, while blackout blinds and the softest linens ensure a fantastic night's sleep. All bathrooms boast relaxing steam showers and amenities by Aesop. The rooms include five king bed suites, four king bed suites with a queen bed loft and balcony, one king bed suite with twin beds in a loft, two ground floor suites open to outdoor patios and one bunkroom with an outdoor patio.

How to get there
Icelandair fly direct from Gatwick and Heathrow to Reykjavik, with a flight time of approximately three hours. Regular internal flights operate daily from the domestic airport of Reykjavik to Akureyri. From Akureyri Airport it is approximately a two-hour road transfer to Deplar Farm.
