Nordic climate - May, June and July are the driest months of the year. Mid-June to August is high season, but most highland tours don’t operate until July because of snow. At other times, many tourist facilities outside Reykjavík are closed. From September through March, the night is dark enough to see the Aurora Borealis.

Set in the heart of the city centre, this modern and cosy hotel is the perfect base for a stay in Reykjavik. The Canopy is just one block from the main shopping street and many of the city's attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. This hotel opened in 2016 and even though it has 112 rooms, it offers a boutique feel. The common areas offer spots for relaxation and space to gather with friends and family. We stayed in a standard twin room and it was clean and comforting. The bathroom was quite small in this room category and so I recommend booking a Premium King room or higher. The junior suite was my favourite room category as it offers a separate sitting area and a more spacious bathroom. The hotel has a restaurant on site and the buffet breakfast with hot and cold offerings was fantastic. The hotel bar offers happy hour every evening between 4-6 and it seems to be popular with guests. Following the happy hour, the hotel offers complimentary tasting menu to showcase local food and drink and they are committed to highlighting Icelandic fare. The service was friendly and warm and I think Canopy makes the perfect base for a stay in Reykjavik.

I really loved this hotel. The rooms are cosy yet modern, the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly and overall it has a great feel to it. The breakfast was amazing, a real array of fruits, cooked and some Icelandic options too. Each morning they produce a 'canopy health shot', packed with ginger and other cold busting essentials. In the evenings they run an exceptionally popular happy hour, a great way to enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif or mingle with other guests. They also do a tasting each night, allowing guests to sample local beer or spirits with nibbles. location wise, you are also bang in the middle of town here, walking distance to all of Reykjavik's restaurants and bars.

Canopy by Hilton Reykjavik is a brilliant city base, combining comfort, style and a fantastic location. Located just behind the main shopping street, there is a restaurant, cafe & bar. Cosy rooms provide a great refuge after a busy day. Enjoy Icelandic snacks between 6-7pm every day as well as bikes to explore the city.

For comfort, quirky touches and a killer breakfast, Canopy by Hilton makes a great stop in Reykjavik. The hotel features a great restaurant, Geiri Smart, where you can sample Icelandic influenced dishes such as langoustine bisque. It has a really buzzy feel due to the mix of guests and locals.

Canopy by Hilton stretches along six houses, making for a warm neighborhood feel. The rooms and suites are comfortable, modern with touches of Icelandic decor, and equipped with all the amenities you could ever need. The hotel offers plenty of common areas to lounge in, a complimentary happy hour from 6 - 7 pm and the delicious Geri smart restaurant. The hotel is located right in the heart of Reykjavik close to the major sights, shopping and the best selection of restaurants and bars.

Located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, Canopy by Hilton makes the perfect base for exploring the city. As soon as we stepped in the door, I could feel the warmth of the hotel's atmosphere - it's cosy and trendy in typical Scandinavian fashion, yet not overly so. Although some of the rooms don't offer much of a view, they are all welcoming and have the most comfortable beds. The service at Geiri Smart restaurant was particularly friendly, while the food was simply delicious!
