Surrounded by the majestic cliffs of Zion National Park and located next to the Virgin River, the Desert Pearl Inn is ideally located for accessing Zion's natural wonders, as well as the adventure outfitters, galleries and restaurants of Springdale.
Desert Pearl is a characterful Inn located in the heart of Springdale along the banks of the Virgin River. Zion's dramatic landscapes of sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs surround the Inn, with the park's entrance and visitor centre just a short walk away.
With car access limited to maintain the peacefulness of the park, staying in Springdale offers immediate access to the park on foot, by complimentary shuttle bus or on a mountain bike. It's easy once there to arrange activities for yourself through local outfitters to go biking, tubing, climbing and (Zion's most famous activity) hiking the slot canyon of the Virgin River, adventures that are not available in the park itself.
With just 73 contemporary and comfortable guest rooms ideally designed for relaxing after a long day exploring Zion National Park, the Desert Pearl is our favourite Springdale lodging. Impressively built using local stone, redwood and reclaimed sleepers that once supported the Great Salt Lake Railroad, the inn blends well with its canyon surroundings.
All rooms are complete with handcrafted furnishings, wooden floors, king or twin beds, sofa sleepers and contemporary kitchens and bathrooms. Choose a room with a view of the tree-lined Virgin River from your private patio or balcony, or go poolside to be conveniently located for a cooling dip and some relaxation on a hot summer's day.
All 73 rooms are stylishly decorated and contemporary in style, each with their own private outdoor patio or terrace with pool, river or lodge view, heating or air-conditioning, a kitchenette with wet bar, fridge and microwave, TV and WiFi.

Facilities in the National Park are basic, so having access to a fully serviced restaurant and a swimming pool was absolutely delightful. The service is fantastic and the room I stayed in was large and had great views of the peaceful river that runs along the back of the property.

Zion was such a lovely surprise. Having stayed in other national parks I am used to the rustic nature of the experience and the often limited services, but Springdale is a breath of fresh air. The town is a Charming strip of good quality hotels, independent restaurants (not a McDonalds in sight), boutiques and outfitters directly adjacent to the Zion Park entrance. Theres a regular complimentary shuttle bus that drives between town and the park entrance and then the shuttle buses that head around the park to the various trail heads go from there. Its just all very well organised and simple. The Desert Pearl Inn is set right in the heart of the town, around 15 minutes walk from the park entrance or there is a bus stop right outside. Its still got that very slight motel feel to it, guests drive down to the rooms and the cars are parked right behind the rooms and, to be fair, it doesnt look that attractive from this perspective, however, that is where this ends. Step inside your guest room and you are greeted with a spacious suite style room with wooden floor, inviting looking King bed with bright throw and fluffy cushions as well as a sleeper sofa, table and chairs and a handy and very need kitchenette with would be ideal for fixing breakfast. My suite looks out to the river and Id definitely recommend one of these rooms. Theyre quieter and the sound of the Virgin River lulls you gently to sleep at night. Rooms around the pool are ideal if travelling with children as they can just enjoy the pool whilst you watch from the room . They are noisier for this reason though and also face toward the road, although that shouldnt cause too much noise, especially at night. The hotel has a rather handy laundry facility, ideal if youve been travelling for a while and want to put on a quick wash yourselves, and also a nice little caf takeaway, perfect for grabbing breakfast on the go. At time of writing, there is also a more substantial caf due to open in the next couple of months which I think will be a nice gathering place addition. Desert Pearl may not be a full service luxury hotel, however, the location is great, the rooms lovely and the pool are river areas inviting. For a few days on the edge of such a beautiful park and surrounded by a nice buzzing village environment, you really couldnt ask for more.
