Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. June to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

Childcare

Children are welcome and there are a selection of kids activities to keep them engaged and enjoying their time. However due to the steep drops and marina location we recommend this property for children over the age of 8 years old. Aside from enjoying the pristine beaches and many watersports on offer, children will love zip lining through the St. Lucian rainforest. Attractions include the private hideaway of Marigot Bay, the drive-in volcano near Soufrière, the Maria Islands Nature Reserve to spot lizards and other wildlife, the nature trail at Diamond Botanical Gardens or head to Grand Anse on the East Coast to watch giant leatherback turtles waddling ashore to nest.

Facilities

Facilities at the resort include four restaurants, three bars, three swimming pools, kids club, Zen garden and wheel chair access. Auriga spa offers spa pods and West Indian Cabanas for ultimate relaxation under the rain forest canopy, as well as a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, salon and fitness center. The Tree house is set amongst the Marigot Bay Resort's Zen garden, and is the ideal setting for special occasions and celebrations whether it be private dinners for up to eight guests or for a romantic and intimate dinner for two.

Activities

Complimentary activities include daily shuttle boat service to Anse Cochon beach, weekly cocktail party, 24-hour Fitness Center, Yoga and Pilates classes. Activities at an additional cost: sailing courses, deep sea sports fishing, horse riding, scuba diving, yacht charters, surfing and kite surfing trips at the Atlantic Coast, spa treatments, rum tasting experience at Rum Cave Restaurant and other land and sea excursions. Additionally there are other adventurous activities such as the Marigot Bay ridge climb to enjoy.

Marigot Bay is a modern hotel located right on the Marina. The members of staff were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and they really added the extra touch to my stay. As there is no beach on site, this is not the best place if you are a beach lover, however they really have emphasised the atmosphere around the pool area which certainly helps.

The food was excellent from the fresh sushi in the poolside bar to the delicious desserts at the Grill restaurant. If you love chocolate, then I would highly recommend the chocolate fondant, this is by far the best one I have ever tasted.

Recently reopened under new management the guest service here is excellent and you do feel as if you are at the center of everything that is happening around you. The location is fabulous on the Marina and I really liked being able to wander to the more local restaurants and little hang outs at the entrance of the Marina, however this is not for everyone, to start with there is no beach so if you are a beach person then this is not for you. The steps to rooms on the higher levels are also pretty epic, so for anyone who has walking difficulties or is not particularly ft this is not an ideal resort.

The food here was excellent, trained by an Irish chef the standards are high and the team are very eager to please.

Marigot Bay Resort and Marina is a modern and exciting hotel in St Lucia. The suites and food are fabulous and this resort is great for couples and families, the only thing missing being a lovely beach (there is a public beach you can go to by boat, but having been across I would probably recommend others you can travel to). Should you be more of a pool guest then you will love this hotel. The view of the luxury yachts in the harbor is stunning and it feels a little like Saint Tropez as you walk down the board walk. I am sure this will become a real people watching venue. I also believe many of the boats will enjoy docking here and staying in the luxurious, modern suites and enjoying the excellent food. Each 1, 2 or 3 bedroom suite is beautifully furnished with mahogany wood, full kitchens and sitting rooms, perfect for families all wanting to be close together and have plenty of space.

Marigot Bay is a stunning natural harbor frequented by sailors looking for a safe mooring spot to shelter from storms.

The Marigot Bay Resort & Marina is set in tiers down the hillside to the marina. This makes for fantastic views from most of the rooms and suites across the marina to the ocean beyond. There is a choice of accommodation from rooms right through to three bedroom suites and sumptuous penthouses, making it a great spot for older families. I wouldn't recommend it for young children or babies as there are a large amount of steps around the resort, not ideal if you have a pushchair.

The Hurricane Hole bar is popular with guests and sailors alike and is a great place for a pre-dinner drink or a lunchtime snack. There's also a great little spa with inside and outside cabana treatment rooms as well as a Zen garden complete with rake and stones should you be feeling creative.

The only downside of Marigot Bay is the beach. It is set across the marina with a regular shuttle boat linking it to the hotel. The beach has recently been extended so is a little larger now but is still somewhat limited. There are water sports available though.

All in all this is a good option if you would like a little more life around you as there's a choice of restaurants across the marina or close by. However, if you are looking for a specific beach vacation this probably isn't the perfect choice.
