The Titanic Trail Historic Walking Tour
Travel back in time to an era of sea travel, emigration to a new life in America and the ill-fated journey of the Titanic. Explore the tales of the emigrants who passed through the port on their way to a new life, and those whose journey ended prematurely
As you spend two hours walking around Cobh with your private guide you’ll hear tales of the events that have shaped the history of both Ireland and the world. The fascinating Titanic Trail winds through the site of the ill-fated vessel’s final port of call, and as you follow in the steps of the final passengers your guide will bring their stories to life. Cobh has also seen thousands of emigrants pass through on their way to forge out a new life in North America, including Annie Moore and her brothers who are immortalised in a statue to mark their place in history as the first immigrants to pass through Ellis Island in 1892.
This emigrant history will be further illuminated during a visit to the Queenstown Story Heritage Centre where audio-visual displays illustrate the role Cork Harbour has played in the key historic events including the sinking of the Titanic and the Lusitania, and emigration from Ireland.
