Glenveagh National Park

Donegal, Ireland

Situated in the Northwest of Co. Donegal, Glenveagh National Park encompasses a remote tract of wilderness in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains, ideal for walking and exploring.

With its bare rock, lakes, glens and bogs dotted with patches of oak and birch forest, Glenveagh is superb walking country, and has a wealth of wildlife from red deer to golden eagles. The centre-piece of the park is the nineteenth-century baronial Glenveagh Castle, whose magnificent ornate gardens contrast sharply with the rugged surroundings.
