As one of the best-preserved ancient towns in Yunnan, Shaxi has preserved much of its original characteristics with quaint alleys and bustling ancient bazaars.
While most travellers pass through the town en route between Dali and Lijiang, for those with more time, we recommend to stay overnight to experience another side of the charming town once all the day trippers are gone.
