Wilpattu National Park

Leopards and wild elephants roam the salt grass meadows, monsoon forests and natural lakes of the Wilpattu National Park, undisturbed by the visitor numbers of the more popular southern parks. With a rich ecosystem supporting water buffalo, sloth bear, spotted deer, painted stork, and black-headed ibis, to name but a few, this is a region to uncover now, before word gets out.
