Ultralight Flight in Mauritius
After departing from the north at the Mon Loisir Sugar Estate, you can reach an altitude of 100 metres, a perfect height from which to revel in the magnificent views over the island. From your unique seat behind the pilot you will be able to witness stunning lagoons, deserted beaches and sugar cane plantations whilst learning from an expert about the surrounding islets all with a 270° view.
You will be in safe hands as all pilots have been trained and accredited by the French Civil Aviation Authority and validated by the Mauritian department of civil aviation. The aircrafts used are class 3 craft classified as ultra light plane with rigid wings, a tail fin, a closed cockpit and an engine that operates with a propeller. This method of transport is perfect for sight seeing as the closed cockpit is surrounded by large transparent panels on both sides and in front. They feel like the perfect vessel from which to enjoy speeds of 75 miles an hour and a height of 1200 feet.
This is a truly unique experience, with cruising speed usually reached within in a minute, so then all there is to do is sit back and relax as you first head north towards Grand Baie and then southwards for several miles edging closer towards Port Louis. These are views you will not forget in a hurry.
