Grand Bassin Sacred Lake
You are first greeted here by the giant statues of Shiva (3rd largest in the world) and Durga. The story of the lake is that a Hindu priest had a dream where he saw a vision of a holy lake connected to the sacred rives Ganges in India. The lake has its 'sacred' validation from a priest bringing sacred water from the Ganges in India and ceremoniously pouring it in the Grand Bassin lake. When you visit here you may see small prayer ceremonies with people offering plates of food
Please note this is a holy place for Hindus, you are welcome in the temple but please remove your shoes first. Entrance is free but donations are welcome.
