Average time to visit
The typical Mediterranean climate of Provence and the Cote d'Azur has long drawn visitors here. Late Spring brings warm temperatures that can reach nearly 30C by July. Sunshine is abundant, with nearly 12 hours a day in mid-summer. The mistral wind can bring a cooler wind in early Spring, but this part of the Riviera is more protected. July is the driest month, and rain showers tend to be infrequent.
To start planning your vacation to Villa Luminx
Close to Nice and with views over St Paul de Vence, Luminx is a charming Provencal villa, full of character. In a residential part of La Colle sur Loup, it has a large pool surrounded by terraces. With choice of a private chef and nanny. Sleeps 10
Villa Luminx enjoys a spectacular location overlooking nearby St Paul de Vence, and just a short walk to the old and picturesque center of La Colle Sur Loup. Equidistant between Nice and Antibes, it's 20 minutes to the nearest beach at Cagnes-sur-Mer and the warm waters of the Baie des Anges, as well as being within easy reach of many the attractions of the South of France and its beautiful scenery. Set on a hillside location within gated grounds, it is in a residential part of the village, with the pool and terraces having far reaching views. It's built in an elegant Provencal style with lots of quirky little design touches, and is both spacious and welcoming. Throughout, there's an eclectic art collection, whilst the surrounding area is an art lover's paradise.
Luminx works really well for families and groups of friends with large open plan living on the ground floor, numerous terraces and a small garden. There's a separate TV room and study, and below, there's a gym and a cinema and games room/children's playroom. Upstairs, there are two double and two twin en-suite bedrooms, all with French doors opening out onto balconies, where you can see St Paul de Vence lying from your bed. The fifth bedroom, a twin, is below the living area with direct access to the outside area, garden and pool.
The outside space offers lots of flexibility for al fresco dining and relaxing, with several terraces on different levels around the villa and pool. The children's play area is based in the covered exterior gallery, with a separate terrace and toys and games. Below the villa is the heated infinity pool (heated in low season only) with gentle steps leading into it, making it ideal for younger children. For guests driving down, there's good parking space.
La Colle sur Loup is an historic village with plenty to explore, especially on market day, each Saturday. A 12th Century priory, which has now been converted into a restaurant, Romanesque chapel and bell tower are all impressive, and it's easy to while away the time in the narrow cobbled streets and alleyways. Well-known for being an antiques center, it also has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Nearby St Paul de Vence is a popular place to visit with its shops and galleries, especially on market day. Surrounded by ramparts, it enjoys an impressive position on the top of a rocky outcrop. Inspiration for artists for centuries, evidence of their visits is everywhere. Art lovers should visit the Fondation Maeght, and if you like food too, then lunch at La Colombe d'Or is highly recommended. Further afield, the Alpes Martimes and the whole of Provence has a wealth of diverse attractions for all to enjoy. From cycling in the hills to kayaking in the spectacular Gorges du Verdon, or from people watching on La Croisette to just sitting by the villa pool, it's not hard to see why this distinct corner of France is so alluring.
If you'd like to drive to your villa, or extend your vacation and explore France a little further, we can organize an itinerary taking in a selection of hotels along the way. Speak to one of our travel specialists who'd be more than happy to make some suggestions and help plan your trip.

Villa Luminx is the ideal villa for guests wanting to stay close to a town, as its within walking distance of the historic perched village of St Paul de Vence. The views are stunning from every room and they form the perfect backdrop when you're taking a dip in the beautiful, infinity pool or lounging in the comfy sofas on the main terrace. I loved the layout of bedrooms, as the main four all have the same great views, ensuring no one misses out. The kitchen is a real WOW kitchen, with painted wooden cabinets and a marble center island, meaning your chef prepared meals, can be crafted in style. When its hot, the gym and pool table on the ground floor, provide a welcome relief and kids will love film night in the small, dedicated cinema.

Villa Luminx is striking from the moment you drive through the gates, it really is a grand building! It feels extremely spacious with a large bright living room with a beautiful stair case leading up to four of the five great sized, en suite bedrooms! The lower floor then boasts the fifth bedroom as well as a gym and cinema room a real treat. The terraces that surround the pool offer a great choice of shaded al fresco dining With the addition this year of the secret garden offering lawn space for the children to run around on whilst you relax by the pool, it is now even more family friendly!

The grand entrance into Luminx really does set the tone for the rest of the villa. It is so subtly stylish, featuring soft white dcor with glamorous highlights. The villa itself is perfect for two families vacationing together as it offers a symmetrical layout with a master and a further bedroom on each side; as well as this, the bedroom on the ground floor is ideal for creating a bit of privacy for grandparents. For me, Luminx has the perfect setting, just a five minute drive from the picturesque town of St Paul de Vence. Not only is this incredibly convenient for a little trip out, it also means the villa benefits from some pretty spectacular views!

One of the largest of our villas in the South of France Luminx is a fantastic base for a big family or group of friends to explore this fantastic part of the world. They can then return to a beautiful villa and relax by the glittering pool. There is a wealth of terraces at Luminx and plenty of space for everyone to relax. Inside there is a large downstairs living area which leads on to a pretty kitchen and conservatory dining area perfect for those slightly chillier evenings at the beginning and end of the season.
A grand staircase leads up to the first floor and the light and spacious bedrooms all with large en-suite bathrooms and many with good sized terraces to enjoy the morning sunshine with your coffee.
The villa has an ideal location to get out and explore St Paul de Vence and is a very easy drive down to the beach.

The bedrooms and communal areas are extremely spacious and there is a generous two tiered terrace perfect for lounging and sun bathing before taking a dip in the large swimming pool.
At an initial glance you would be led to believe that the villa is mostly suited to couples and groups of friends, however the villa has a fantastic indoor play area, games and cinema room, with table tennis and a pool table, and a substantial outdoor space located near the undercover dining area which is being designed as an outdoor haven with sand pit, playhouse and other great child friendly facilities.
