To start planning your vacation to Tannenhof
Completely renovated in 2011, the Tannenhof has re-opened as a boutique 5* hotel offering just 7 luxurious and beautifully designed suites. Designed as a home from home, the Tannenhof has been a labour of love for the owners, Judith and Axel, and the warm and welcoming feel reflects that.
The owners have been careful to use mainly local Tyrolean materials in the hotel and the interior design of the Tannenhof combines these local elements with traditional but contemporary furnishings, to give an overall feeling of cosy alpine chic. Art from local artists is featured throughout the hotel, and the displays are changed regularly.
There are six suites and one two-bedroom Master Suite, all kitted out with high-quality furnishings. Each is slightly different in layout but the living areas all have a wood-burning fireplace and oak floors and the bedrooms are styled with plush pillows, fabulous cosy blankets and every possible comfort to ensure a good night’s sleep. In fact, the pillows are taken very seriously here, and you can choose your perfect pillow from the pillow menu! Each suite has a very spacious bathroom with a free-standing bath tub, separate 'rain' shower and double sinks.
Dining is a gourmet affair, with six course dinners of authentic regional Tyrolean cuisine using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Breakfast is a selection of freshly pressed fruit or vegetable juice, homemade bread, local jams, cold meat, sausages and cheese from local farmers - for those wanting a leisurely start to the day, it can be served until 10.30 a.m. in your suite or on your private sunny balcony.
For some well-earned pampering, head to the spa for a muscle-relaxing massage or choose from a range of treatments which uses natural products. Enjoy the views of the mountains from the indoor pool and whirlpool, relax in the steam baths and indoor sauna, or head to the little outdoor hut housing a fabulous sauna.

Families are very welcome at the Tannenhof, although there are no specific children's facilities.
Scott Dunn pioneered skiing vacations with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic vacations and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity program and given healthy lunches and snacks (to be paid locally).
Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests can opt to have a private nanny service . Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, mostly free of charge.
For relaxation after skiing, go for a swim in the indoor pool and whirlpool, or recharge in the serene relaxation room. Choose a pampering spa treatment, or head for the steambaths and saunas.
St Anton is just one part of the awesome Arlberg. The excellent snow record combined with such an extensive area means it should be high on the list for any good skier. The backcountry potential is such that a guide is essential if you wish to do more than scratch the surface. While the terrain can be challenging for those with only a few weeks’ experience, the Rendl area offers some easier runs and plenty of sun.
Aside from the skiing, St Anton exudes character and charm and the Tyrolean hospitality is not to be missed. The village itself is what Alpine villages should be like and there is a wealth of good restaurants shops. St Anton is famous for après ski and the Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh are world-renowned.
The wellness center, the Well.com is highly acclaimed and there is masses more to do, including walking, rock climbing, ice skating, sleigh riding, curling, tennis squash and plenty more.
Location & Directions
St Anton, Austria
Hotel Tannenhof is situated in the quiet Nasserein area of St Anton with fabulous views over the valley. The hotel's shuttle service drops guests at the ski lifts and it takes approximately 10 minutes to walk to St Anton.
When to go
St Anton has an enviable reputation for its snow. The Eastern Alps frequently benefit from early snow and the largely pastoral terrain does not need a hugely deep base to offer great skiing conditions. As a result, St Anton frequently offers some of the best skiing in the Alps in December and January. The microclimate means that snowfalls are more prolific than in many other resorts and with plenty of skiing above 2000 meters, conditions can be great right up until late April.
