A short walk in front of the Pavilion leads you to a set of tiny waterfalls feeding into a billabong home to a resident platypus. Grab snorkel and see if you can spot him. Silky Oaks Lodge is set in 80 acres of rainforest bordering the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park and overlooking the beautiful Mossman River. Fine dining in an ancient rainforest, early morning yoga classes , indulging in the award winning Healing Waters Spa, lazy swims in the Billabong or enjoying the stunning forest and river vistas as you relax in a hammock are some of the many options available at the Lodge. Hiking trails into the Daintree with guidebook lead to numerous scenic picnic spots as well as gorgeous locations to swim in sparkling waters
The advanced eco lodge comprises the renowned open sided Treehouse restaurant offering fine dining in scenic surrounds, contemporary accommodation encompassing both custom designed and furnished Billabong, River and Treehouses, and the highly lauded Healing Waters Spa.
The Lodge has elegantly furnished interiors and spacious open lounge areas, bar, reading rooms with reference library. All accommodation retreats have wall to ceiling windows leading to spacious balconies with lush garden, rainforest or river panoramas.
There are extensive hiking trails leading from the Lodge into the Daintree National Park offering both adventure and education as well as diverse and beautiful locations to photograph or picnic.
Lodge has 36 outlying retreats comprising 11 Riverhouses, 2 Billabong Suites and 23 Deluxe Treehouses. All offer floor to ceiling windows leading to private balconies. Each room has custom made Silky Oak and rosewood cabinetry and furniture, Bose iPod dock and CD player, luxury linens, large bathrooms with double spa bath and separate shower.
The Riverhouses and Billabong Suites are set overlooking the pristine waters of the Mossman River while still immersed in the tranquillity of the surrounding rainforest.
The Deluxe Treehouses are located in lush gardens and within sight of the adjoining Daintree National Park.
Set in prime riverfront locations, spectacular rainforest views and the soothing sounds of the Mossman River are key elements of the Riverhouses. Generously spacious, with polished timber floors and elegant interiors, room appointments are stylish and comfortable. An oversized spa bath, with uninterrupted rainforest views, is one of the many special inclusions offered in addition to standard room features.
Large open plan Riverhouses with double balconies, lounge area, floor to ceiling windows, locally made designer furniture and double spa bath. Each suite has a complimentary mini bar, Sodashi spa amenities, luxury linens ,lavish king bed, Bose music system and gorgeous views of lush rainforest and the river.
Set beside the rainforest and surrounded by lush natural gardens each has been carefully designed to offer privacy and maximum comfort. The Treehouses have stylish interiors with warm natural tones used to create a relaxed and soothing living space. Floor to ceiling glass doors open onto a wide verandah where a hammock is positioned to make the most of the views. Air-conditioned, interiors are spacious and attractively furnished with a range of contemporary comforts including a daybed. The rooms have a large bathroom which includes a spa bath.
Silky Oaks Lodge welcomes children from the age of 12 years and up, but there are no specific facilities available for them at the lodge.
The Treehouse Restaurant is one of Northern Queensland's premier dining experiences and the open-sided restaurant offers sensational Daintree Rainforest and Mossman River views. The menu showcases the freshest local produce and fine Australian wines. Every day, there is an additional daily special dish for the dinner menu. For a special occasion, private riverside dining can be arranged and a 3 course menu with your selection of wines will be accompanied by the sounds of the rainforest and the river.
There are endless Lodge safari options which can be customized to include the many attractions of the area both near and far.
Experience Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime stories at nearby Mossman Gorge; take a guided walk through coastal mangroves using traditional hunting methods, or journey by Helicopter from the Lodge helipad to remote coral cays.
Take a River Snorkelling Drift excursion - a scenic rainforest tour down the Mossman River that is both exhilarating and informative. Listen to Binna as he takes you on his journey exploring indigenous art while taking a painting class in his private gallery.
Walk through ancient Fan Palm Galleries in original refugial rainforests at Cooper Creek Wilderness with passionate senior Daintree Rainforest guides. Take 3 or 5 hour guided hikes both from the Lodge itself or further afield exploring mountain trails and waterfalls.
Sail aboard Luxury yachts exploring numerous coral cays and beaches with expert guides for both snorkel and diving or take a larger catamaran out to various outer reef pontoons.
The nearby Daintree River offers a collection of experiences ranging from sightings of saltwater crocodiles to the extraordinary birdlife of the region under the tutelage of Del Richards, the local representative for Birds of Australia.

Covering 88 acres of Rainforest on the edge of the Daintree National Park, Silky Oaks Lodge is located 78 kilometers north of Cairns, 22 km north of Port Douglas, 3.5 km north of Mossman and 33km south of the Daintree River Crossing, (68 km to Cape Tribulation).
When to go
Each season in the Daintree region offers a different, unique experience. The climate is truly tropical with the Dry Season, roughly May to October, offering warm days and cool nights with low humidity. November to April is generally the Wet Season when the heavens frequently open releasing torrential rain, and the days and nights are hotter.
