A great alternative to staying in San Jose for the start and end of your trip.

The tour to the sulphur-smelling crater at the Poas Volcano is very interesting, but arrive early to beat the crowds and get the best views before the clouds comes in.

La Piedre is a fantastic room with its own private terrace with beautiful views and a really spacious bathroom.

Insider's View

Probably the best place to enjoy a coffee tour - make sure to try and fit it in if you are only there for one night. Small enough for you to walk around, you can really see each part of the process, and then enjoy an extensive coffee tasting at the end!

Sit in the jacuzzi overlooking the valley with a glass of wine during sunset, an ideal setting as it can get chilly in the evenings.
