From a walk in the rainforest, to the colourful sight of Parrot Clay Lick, and meeting the local indigenous communities, this is a trip you will never forget.

Monday: Pañacocha, the mythical Piranha Lagoon

Today, there is the opportunity to travel downstream to the Pañacocha River Delta to take a canoe trip to Pañacocha Lake, known as Piranha Lagoon in the native Kichwa language. An ecosystem flooded by blackwater river water, the surrounding rainforest is home to primates and many bird species, while the waters are the ideal habitat for piranhas, pirarucu (one of the world’s largest freshwater fish), as well as white caiman. During the trip, guided walks will provide the opportunity to spot primates and a variety of birdlife, before recharging with an Amazon-style barbeque at a local community camp. After lunch, there will be the chance to kayak or swim, before returning to the Anakonda to build on the experience with aninteresting talk on the region.
