Hot Springs Explorer
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
This full day tour takes you by boat to the top of Clayoquat Sound where you travel through a series of thermal rock pools before a 2km hike brings you to hot sulphur springs. Head out to sea in search of whales on the return journey (weather permitting).
Travelling from Victoria, you will travel 32km to reach the northern end of Clayoquat Sound, stopping on route to enjoy a number of the region's natural attractions. Explore sea caves, a seabird nesting island and go in search of black bears, depending on the time of year. From here you will reach a series of thermal rock pools, beginning a short, 2km hike through dense rainforest where you will come across the sulphuric hot springs. The trail is across a series of boardwalks so no particular level of fitness is required.
On the return journey you will go in search of whales and other marine life before returning to the dock.
Minimum age 3 years. Please note that the tour does not include the $4 + GST BC Parks Fee to visit the Hot Springs, payable locally.
