Description

Shamwari's Long Lee Manor epitomises Edwardian elegance in South Africa. Far from a bush camp, but rather a comfortable and impressive Manor House in the heart of the Eastern Cape, set amongst a wildlife rich and malaria free private game reserve.

This gracious Edwardian Manor House harks to the colonial days of old. Manicured gardens, pools and ponds, terraces and verandas spread through the gardens of the house. The views are breathtaking, overlooking the expansive plains and resident wildlife.

There are 15 elegant rooms available at the manor, a great option for a large group or an intimate retreat for couples wanting to experience an Eastern Cape safari. Evening meals and sundowners can be enjoyed inside or outside on the veranda or at the Boma after exciting game drives.

Shamwari is a beautiful wilderness reserve in the malaria free Eastern Cape. The 25,000 hectares cover a wide variety of different habitats and are home to healthy populations of a wide variety of African wildlife, including the Big 5.

Shamwari Private Game Reserve has won numerous awards for the conservation work undertaken. Breeding programmes for critically endangered mammals, and wonderful rehabilitation centres are well worth a visit on any safari here. You won't fail to leave feeling better for being surrounded by the warmth, hospitality and passion for both the environment and the animals living here.
