In the land of a million elephants, it’s an absolute must to visit the rescue foundation set up close to Luang Prabang to nurture the little remaining elephants left, interact in a very small group with these magnificent creatures and see first hand their efforts to save the population and eventually release them back in to the world.
Rich with diverse experiences, rise early to give alms to the monks and follow with a mostly likely private breakfast at the most turquoise waterfall you’ll probably ever see. If that doesn’t float your boat, you can float on a boat down the Mekong at sunset or try your skills at Petanque, challenging your guide and driver and definitely a few locals who take this sport very seriously.
