The Gran Hotel Son Net, a member of Stein Hotels and Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is a restored 17th century finca offering luxurious accommodation and excellent facilities. Natural stone flagged floors and rustic beams create the perfect backdrop for the elegant furnishings and original modern art works that are scattered generously throughout the hotel, from artists such as Chagall, Hockney and Andy Warhol.
The Son Net is located on a secluded hilltop with beautiful views over the mountain village of Puigpunyent. The magnificent swimming pool is surrounded by cabanas set within the hotel’s luxuriant Mediterranean gardens. During the summer months you can linger over a relaxed al fresco lunch in El Gazebo by the pool. The cuisine at the new Oleum restaurant is strongly influenced by Mallorcan specialties with a modern touch and houses an ancient olive press that has been restored to working order.
The hotel has four deluxe pool rooms, villa style accommodation which are nestled into the hillside, ideal for those who prefer the privacy and space of a villa and can still take advantage of the 5-star facilities in the hotel. They each have their own hot tub and private access to the swimming pool. The hotel also has one Grand Suite Cottage with its own private swimming pool, a fantastic choice for families with children. For those slightly larger parties, there is even an option of having a connecting door to a superior cottage.
The Son Net Estate dates back to 1672 and with the original well and patio still in place the estate retains a sense of its history. The luxury hotel was opened in 1998 sitting alongside the original mansion house and the rugged Sierra Tramuntana mountains, it was constructed using traditional stone, wood, tiles and handcrafted Stucco walls. All rooms and suites feature: television, air-conditioning, hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board on request, toiletries, phone, wifi in most rooms. The suites feature balconies and terraces with dramatic mountain views and some have Jacuzzis.
The Deluxe Room are located on the top floor of Son Net, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and hotel pool and gardens. The rooms are individually decorated and spacious.
All Superior rooms are situated on the first floor of the hotel and look out over the interior patios, the Galatzó mountain range and the hotel entrance. All superior rooms feature king-size or twin beds, depending on the guests' preference. A typical characteristic of the rooms are the very spacious and comfortable bathrooms.
The Royal Suites are approximately 150 square meters in size, offering separate living and dining areas, spacious private terraces and gardens and fabulous views over the valley of Puigpunyent and surroundings. A private Jacuzzi is also available.
The Classic Room features garden views, television, air conditioning, hairdryer and a safe.
The Presidential Suite includes two queen-sized beds and a magnificent bathroom. From a balcony in the Suite, guests can look out over the gardens, the medieval village of Puigpunyent and the little church which belongs to Gran Hotel Son Net.

The Deluxe Pool Rooms offer opulent seclusion in high style. Located to the exterior of the main building and replete with private entrance, these rooms each offer a private garden with outdoor Jacuzzi, including Private access to the semi private swimming pool. All bathrooms include bathtub and walk in shower.
The Gran Suites include open living rooms with elegant fabrics and furniture. These spacious rooms have panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and hotel gardens, and are individually decorated.
|Gran Suite Cottage||
The Gran Suite Cottage offers a spacious, stylish environment. To the exterior of the main building enter via private entrance and enjoy a private terrace and garden replete with a swimming pool. The room offers unique views over the Tramuntana mountains.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Gran Hotel Son Net. However, there are no facilities except for a children’s menu available in the restaurants.
Oleum Restaurant is the point of reference for fine dining in Mallorca. The selection of innovative Mallorcan dishes, apply modern techniques to locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Gazebo is an informal restaurant offering panoramic views over the island and the bar serves a range of bespoke cocktails and spirits. There is a swimming pool, a Zen Zone beauty center, fitness room and hydro-massage pool.
Mallorca is one of Europe's great cycling destinations and the Tramuntana mountains run close to the hotel creating a haven for walkers. There is a wide selection of excellent golf courses on the island. Other sports and activities include horse riding, rock climbing, canyoning, hot air balloon rides, helicopter rides, boat trips and cooking classes. The hotel also arranges personalized excursions to areas of interest such as Palma, local wine cellars and the east coast.

Gran Hotel Son Net is located in the village of Puigpunyent, set against the 90km long Sierra Tramuntana Mountain range, on Mallorca in the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea.
When to go
Mallorca experiences great Mediterranean weather with temperatures much more pleasant than that of continental Europe. Summers in Mallorca are normally hot and dry while winters tend to be pleasant and mild. Mallorca's high tourist season begins in April and ends around late September. Many restaurants and bars are only open during the summer months of June to September, though visiting outside these months means less crowds.
