The rustic mountain retreat of La Pleta has a warm and welcoming atmosphere combined with the excellent service of a five star hotel. The rugged exterior gives way to a cosy interior combining stone and wood with soft white and cream furnishings.
The hotel exudes stylish luxury; the 68 rooms and suites have a mountain lodge feel with oversized beds piled high with cushions, heated flooring and slate bathrooms. The fine dining restaurant, Del Gel al Foc, serves a creative international cuisine with a Catalonian twist and influences from the Spanish head chef, or for something a little lighter at lunch, try the sun-drenched La Petita Borda restaurant. For après ski relaxation, enjoy a cocktail in the chic Cafe y Veranda bar, and the cigar bar offers cigars and prestigious brandies and whiskies from around the world.
The Occitania Spa is very contemporary in design whilst reflecting the hotel’s surroundings by using natural materials including slate, local stone and wood. There is a huge variety of treatments on offer from herbal massages to hot stone therapy using products incorporating flowers and fruits from the Aran Valley. A superb hotel in a truly unique location.
La Pleta was superb and we were looked after incredibly well by Rebeca and her team. What struck me most was the high level of service and lovley atmosphere within the hotel. The food was absolutely incredible we ate in both the informal restaurant (La Petita Bordais) and the gourmet one (Del Gel al Foc) and both were absolutely superb. There is a bit of an overlap on the menus, both of which serve some good sushi dishes (but there was no separate sushi restaurant per se) but the main difference of the restaurants was the location with the informal one much more popular with families.
f you are looking for great family skiing with spectacular food but without the glitz, glamour and busier slopes of France or Switzerland then La Pleta is ideal.

There are approximately 45 amazing gastro restaurants within a 20-minute drive of the hotel. If you love good meat dishes with a Spanish twist, then you'll adore this place. The hotel also provides very reasonably priced transfers to all of the local restaurants, so there's plenty of opportunity to sample top wines.
It's a gastronomic haven.

I really loved this boutique ski hotel. It was such a welcome change to ski in a Spanish resort and thus avoid the hoards common in other resorts in the Alps. Expect a true Catalan welcome and 90% Spanish skiers.
Baqueira village boasts countless local restaurants and of course the hotel itself houses a main restaurant and a resident sushi chef who prepares perfect sushi in view of an audience of diners.
The La Pleta is a welcoming and exclusive five stars hotel situated in Baqueira Beret, a picturesque and seductive ski resort in the Aran Valley, in the Spanish Pyrenees of the Catalonia region. The infrastructures, rooms and environment were created with your comfort and wellbeing in mind, with a decoration that combines the rusticity of wood and stone with the elegance of contemporary furniture. The hotel team, dedicated and considerate, will do everything to guarantee a perfect stay. The hotel offers you the possibility of having several gastronomic experiences, from the Oriental flavors of the Zen style sushi restaurant to the Catalonian gourmet cuisine of the Del Gel al Foc restaurant, and including the appetizers served on the terrace of the Café y Veranda. In the Occitania SPA, candle lights will guide you on a sensory journey bound for the serene equilibrium of the body and mind. Uncover in this chic atmosphere a range of spaces, therapies and treatments that use the essences of the flowers and fruits of the mountain that surrounds us. The forests, rivers, lakes and old villages of the valley and of the Pyrenees invite you for countless activities in an always colorful Summer or in a snow-white Winter. La Pleta invites you to uncover the mysteries of the mountain in all the seasons.
