The La Pleta Sushi Restaurant is a new addition to the hotel, offering gourmet Japanese sushi.

Be sure to book as service is on Wednesdays and Saturdays only, when there is a tasting menu with dishes like Sushi, Sashimi, Tatakis, Miso Soup and the genuine hot Sake to enjoy.

The hotel exudes stylish luxury; the 68 rooms and suites have a mountain lodge feel with oversized beds piled high with cushions, heated flooring and slate bathrooms. The fine dining restaurant, Del Gel al Foc, serves a creative international cuisine with a Catalonian twist and influences from the Spanish head chef, or for something a little lighter at lunch, try the sun-drenched La Petita Borda restaurant. For something a little different in the Pyrenees, try some hot Sake, sushi and sashimi in the hotel's Sushi Restaurant - zen style arrives in the mountains! For après ski relaxation, enjoy a cocktail in the chic Cafe y Veranda bar, and the cigar bar offers cigars and prestigious brandies and whiskies from around the world.

The Occitania Spa is very contemporary in design whilst reflecting the hotel’s surroundings by using natural materials including slate, local stone and wood. There is a huge variety of treatments on offer from herbal massages to hot stone therapy using products incorporating flowers and fruits from the Aran Valley. Unwind after the day's exertions in the aromatherapy relaxation room, or soothe aching muscles in the turkish bath and swimming pool.

The ski lifts are a 10-minute walk away, or alternatively, take the private hotel mini bus which runs to and from throughout the day. There is an in-house ski rental shop run by Jose Moga, once one of Spain’s top ski racers to kit you out with the latest in ski equipment.


All 68 rooms feature every modern comfort, with satellite television, DVD player, WiFi internet, safe, minibar, Molton Brown bathroom products, and bathrobe and slippers as standard. Plush beds and a choice of pillows from the pillow menu ensure a great night's sleep! The 18 Suites are spacious and luxurious and all have plasma televisions.

Standard Room features: 24m2, wooden decor, plush bed and pillows.

Occitania Superior

Superior Room features: 24m2, sitting room area, mountain views, hydromassage in the bathroom, some with balcony.

Occitania Junior Suite

Junior Suite features: 41m2, set over two floors, second guest bathroom, hydromassage in main bathroom, large lounge on bottom floor, can accommodate 4 with the sofa turning into a generous queen size bed ideal for two children.

Occitania Suite

Suite features: 53m2, spacious lounge, jacuzzi in bathroom, mountain views, can be connected to Standard Room to make perfect space for all the family to stay together.

Occitania Master Suite

Master Suite features: set over two floors with bedroom on top floor and large lounge area below, open plan layout, private balcony overlooking valley, home cinema, double jacuzzi and rain shower.

Occitania Suite Superior

Suite Superior features: 60m2, unique suite, valley and mountain views, home cinema, whirlpool shower and double jacuzzi.


The hotel offers free English-speaking childcare from 4 pm until 8 pm suitable for children 3 years plus. Outside of these hours they have a baby sitting service provided by the staff of the hotel which costs €14 per hour for 1 child, €18 for two children and €24 for three children.


Fine dining with a Catalonian twist is offered at Del Gel al Foc restaurant and for something a little lighter at lunch, teas and healthy menus, try the informal, sun-drenched La Petita Borda restaurant (open for lunch and snacks only). For something zen, the hotel's Sushi Restaurant (with an open kitchen, where you can watch the chef at work) is open six times a week for hot Sake, sushi and sashimi. Revive with a hot mulled wine on the terrace, or enjoy an après ski cocktail in the chic Cafe y Veranda bar. The cigar bar offers cigars and prestigious brandies and whiskies from around the world.

A herbal massage or hot stone therapy treatment will ease aches and pains, and the contemporary Occitania Spa is a great spot in which to relax after a hard day's skiing. Try the hot chocolate or four-hand massage!

The complimentary hotel shuttle bus runs to the ski lift station and the hotel also has an in-house ski shop (rental), boot butler service and mountain picnic service.


The hotel's concierge can arrange a picnic service, restaurant transportation service, children's club, snowmobiling, dog sledding, cross-country skiing, Heliskiing, helicopter transfers, snow shoeing, ice skating, 4x4 driving as well as the complimentary minibus.

There is also a heated, indoor hotel swimming pool (12m x 15m)

Baqueira is in the Aran Valley, Catalonia, in the Spanish Pyrenees. The hotel is 400 meters to the chair lift and there is a complimentary minibus shuttle to this lift for those struggling in ski boots.
