Located in the Uco Valley south of Mendoza, this small boutique hotel sits at the foot of the Andes mountains and is a fantastic rural retreat to get off the beaten track and explore the region, enjoying great local food from the resident chef.
The rooms at Alpasion are themed around 'Earth Elements', bringing in stylish aspects of each; fire, air, water, earth, wood and iron, and are designed to create a relaxing 'Zen' environment for guests. The hotel living and dining areas are rustic and cosy in design with large fireplaces and under-floor heating throughout. The rooms are arranged to make the most of the breathtaking views of the majestic snow-capped Andes mountains.
The resident chef prepares fresh dishes daily for guests using the best locally sourced ingredients, and the hotel produces its own wine for guests to sample. The grapes are harvested by hand and come from a local vineyard in Chacayes in the Uco Valley. The hotel features a roof terrace where you can sip wine under the stars or enjoy the views of the mountains, and the outdoor swimming pool and a Jacuzzi offer guests relaxation and rejuvenation, both overlooking the mountains. There are a whole array of other activities on offer from horseback riding to mountain biking.
A wine lovers dream, this region is well known for its vineyards and there are many wineries in the area which you can explore and sample the wines, or even learn about the production process.
Alpasion Lodge, has 5 luxurious double guest rooms with private terrace, cable TV and WiFi internet. Rooms are based on 'Natural Elements' themes and have been designed and decorated in the style of these including fire, water, air and earth. All have a private terrace and views of the mountains. Three of the rooms can be configured as a twin.
The on site chef prepares fresh dishes daily from locally-sourced ingredients. Alpasión Lodge makes its own wine too, and guests are welcome to do wine tasting at the hotel.
There are plenty of activities to suit all tastes. Guests can do any number of the following: cycling, golf, white water rafting, fly-fishing, wine tours, canopy tours, horseback riding, spa treatments or simply relaxing by the swimming pool or in the Jacuzzi.
Biking the Uco Valley vineyards
Take a private tour by bike through the Uco Valley to discover some of the best wine producers in Argentina. Includes a private lunch at Andeluna or Atamisque winery. Operates on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Full day Cerro Arenales Trek
This challenging full-day trek is perfect for adventurous travelers with a good level of fitness, following the trail along the White River Valley to reach Arenales Peak at 3,500m/11,500ft. Look out for Andean wildlife as you go.
Full-Day Aconcagua Trekking
Hike up to the base camp of Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Andes mountain range, soaking in incredible views over snowy Andean peaks and the surrounding vineyards and valleys of the Mendoza region. Approximately 6 hours of hiking.

13-hour 40-minute flight to Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport, from there it's a 2-hour flight to Mendoza and a 90-minute road transfer.
