Whichaway Camp is a camp like no other, the perfect base for your Antarctic adventure. Spacious state-of-the-art sleeping pods are designed for two people and just over 6m (20ft) in diameter and feature a wash area and toilet. Separate to the ‘sleeping pod’ there is a communal shower pod, kitchen, where the award-winning chef prepares mouth-watering meals, a comfortable lounge area.
Activities can be as easy and gentle or adventurous and adrenaline-fuelled. Learn to rock climb on a nearby ‘Nunatak’ mountain. or explore the Schirmacher Oasis – a rare stretch of terra firma surrounded by the ice cap of Antarctica. Visit a research base and learn all about ongoing scientific explorations.
As a part of White Desert Camp, Whichaway Camp offers 6 luxury sleeping Domes measuring just over 6m/20ft in diameter. Each Dome contains everything that you could need for your stay including heating, premium bedding, a writing desk, and en suite bathroom with separate water closet.
Whichaway Camp also has a separate pod with hot showers, as well as a reception pod, dining pod and lounge pod complete with plush seating.
Despite its remote location, guests staying at Wichaway Camp are able to warm up with a hot shower in the shower pod.
Enjoy gentle treks and picnics overlooking the ice waves.
For any adrenaline junkies staying at Wichaway Camp, kite-skiing amongst epic scenery just off-site is a must!
Depending on current conditions, there can be no better way to explore the ice than donning a harness, climbing up and abseiling down. Marvel at the incredible formations and head into the spectacular caves.
