Our Big Five

Whilst spotting Big Five game is at the top of every safari goer’s bucket list, Africa’s showstopper appeal doesn’t stop at its wildlife. To showcase the continent's natural beauty, we've handpicked our very own big five destinations which can be added to your itinerary to complete the ultimate African adventure.

Victoria Falls

Spanning the width of the Zambezi River, the immense scale and magnificence of Victoria Falls confirm it as one of Africa’s blockbuster attractions. Discover the falls on foot, by air or even by swimming in the whirlpools of the Zambezi itself to really experience the wonder of this natural phenomenon. Located only a stone’s throw away from Victoria Falls is the stylish and luxurious Tongabezi River Lodge, perfectly situated for viewing the falls from the lesser explored Zambian side.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater, located in Northern Tanzania, is a superlative safari destination. Home to vast numbers of wildlife and an incredibly unique ecosystem, it is the beating heart of Tanzania’s safari scene and an unmissable addition to any safari itinerary. Home to the original Big Five, it is the perfect place for an unforgettable encounter with one of Africa’s most magnificent animals. On the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater sits the remarkable Entamanu tented camp, an intimate property offering exclusive views across the crater and the Serengeti.

Skeleton Coast

Dotted with eerie shipwrecks, bordered by colossal sand dunes and often swathed in a blanket of fog, the Skeleton Coast in Namibia is one of the most mysterious wildernesses in the world. Unapologetically stark, this otherworldly landscape is a truly stunning place to explore. Located in the remote desert region of Kaokoveld, the Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is a unique base from which to explore Namibia’s incredible coastline.

Table Mountain

Towering over the cosmopolitan hub of Cape Town, Table Mountain is a defining feature of the South African city’s skyline. Choose to catch the cable car or walk to the summit on one of the many hiking trails to soak up panoramic views of the city and beautiful coastline. Forming part of the eponymous national park, the mountain is home to a diverse selection of flora and fauna, so spending a day exploring all Table Mountain has to offer is highly recommended. Situated in the heart of Cape Town, the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel sits in the shadow of the magnificent Table Mountain, ideal for exploring Cape Town, and all it has to offer.

Okavango Delta

Located in northern Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a vast inland river delta which transforms dramatically throughout the year. With the rains, the landscape morphs into a floodplain which is game rich and perfect for unique experiences such as canoeing safaris and fishing trips. The Okavango Delta is home to a plethora of wildlife including, lion, giraffe, leopard and rhino which can all be spotted from the Nxabega Camp, a hand-crafted lodge offering some of the best views and most amazing water wilderness experiences in the delta.
