Mauritius enjoys a typically tropical climate with year-round heat, although the southeast trade winds help it never to feel too muggy. The summer months are from December to April, when it can nevertheless be extremely humid, and the winter, such as it is, runs from May to November, and is cooler and drier.
The best months to visit Mauritius are May to early December. January and February, the peak cyclone months, are best avoided by water-sports enthusiasts and divers. Cyclones rarely hit Mauritius (although Rodrigues has suffered far more regularly than the mainland) but cyclones way out at sea can bring days of squally rain.
Coastal temperatures range between 25°C and 33°C in summer and between 18°C and 24°C in winter. On the plateau it will be some 5°C cooler. The highlands are also the wettest part of the island – it can rain here at any time of year, and even when it’s not raining the area can be cloaked in low-lying cloud. When the winds are at their strongest in July and August it can be blustery on the east coast, though the breeze brings welcome relief in summer.
Apart from the Christmas-New Year peak, Mauritius doesn’t really have high and low seasons. The situation is more dependent on outside factors (such as the French school vacations, which cause a big increase in demand and prices in August).

The resort has a great bohemian feel about it which is relaxed and chic. The kids club is open until 10pm which is great if you wanted a relaxing evening. It offers great activities for the children both in and out of the resort. The long stretch of beach is ideal for snorkeling and is quiet due to the motorized water sports being a 5 minute boat ride away. A great all rounder hotel.

This is a wonderful resort for families and offers facilities to keep all the family busy, with a large children's club, water sports and free boat shuttles to the nearby island of Ile Aux Cerfs. The hotel offers large spacious accommodation with the option to interconnect. The resort also has its own beach on the island of Ile Aux Cerfs giving you a selection of beautiful beaches to chose from and they also offer beach service by segways.

Le Touessrok has an exclusive feel to it, enhanced by access to the nearby private island. The rooms are large and light and the suites are great for couples or families wishing to share a room. Appealing to families and couples alike the hotel strikes a good balance, with couples having quieter time at the adult only pools, whilst kids and families can choose between the other pools and kids club.

An excellent retreat for couples but also for families. With an extensive range of water sports on offer there is plenty to do whilst staying at the hotel. If you feel like lying on the beach why not head over to sample a bit of paradise over on the exclusive island of Ile aux Cerfs, with its spectacular Bernhard Langer 18-hole golf course. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, 7 in total.

Le Touessrok offers six beaches so you are spoiled for choice. When you are on the beach the butlers come along and clean your sunglasses for you! I loved the accommodation on Frangipani island as it is in a quiet location and offers an amazing egg-shaped bath. The resort is very spread out and is good for both couples and families. There is a floating platform which is reached by boat for sunbathing or an unforgettable private dining experience.

I would also recommend the golf course at Le Touessrok, which was outstanding, very difficult but in fantastic condition and a great challenge.
I would also recommend the Indian restaurant which was excellent.

Le Touessrok is one of Mauritius' hippest hotels and sits proud on a sandy peninsula on the east coast of the island. Favoured by couples and families, the rooms are minimalist and contemporary and set in lush tropical gardens situated on a collection of islands connected by wooden bridges. The Frangipani Junior Suites are perfectly situated overlooking the ocean and feature huge bathrooms including the trademark egg-shaped bath tubs. Across the water are the resort's two islands - Ile aux Cerfs, with its spectacular championship golf course designed by Bernard Langer, and Ile Mangnie, an island retreat exclusive to guests, both a short ride by private boat. If you are like me and can never make up your mind on what to order in restaurants then you will love the concept Le Bazar, the Asian and European influenced dishes will certainly not disappoint. Likewise offering stunning views of the water, Safran is probably the finest Indian restaurant on the island. Its menu, overseen by head chef Ramesh Bundi, combines classic Eastern flavors with Western cooking methods - try the spiced pineapple in coconut milk. After dinner, stroll down to the Sega Bar which occupies the center stage at the resort's main pool, sit back and be entertained by the much loved resident jazz band.
