Reach Falls and Boston Jerk Centre

Travel with your guide East of Port Antonio to Manchioneal and you will find the stunning, little known waterfalls of Reach Falls where the Drivers River plunges into a wide aqua pool. Nearby is a banana path where you can enter the river and walk up to the waterfalls. Adventure your way up the slippery cascades, wading the shallows and swimming through the deeper turquoise pools. The water is crystal clear and refreshing; the scenery of hanging vines, stands of bamboo and cascading falls is quite spectacular. The pool below the main waterfalls has been used as a backdrop in the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail.

Be sure to bring your swim suit and water shoes and a picnic lunch can be provided by your hotel to enjoy here at this tranquil spot. Alternatively, stop off on the way back at Boston Jerk Centre to enjoy a tasty lunch of jerk chicken or pork with an ice cold red stripe. Chill out here on a locally crafted bamboo bench and watch the surfers in the bay.
