Meet our Caribbean specialists. They all share a passion for these picturesque islands and would love to share their enthusiasm and experience with you.
What I love so much about the Caribbean is the convenience of getting there and how different each and every island is, offering something to everyone! I love St Lucia and the amazing scenery - the pitons in the south are nothing short of breathtaking. Jamaica offers amazing music and delicious Jerk chicken, Barbados allows you to venture beyond the hotels and sample amazing cuisine, and Antigua has the beautiful white sandy beaches! The Caribbean is home to some of the friendliest people who will always put you a smile on your face making you want to return again and again!
For the last 20 years I have traveled extensively in the Caribbean and love the destination for its laid back relaxed charm, fantastic climate and smiling faces. Each island is completely unique and it is more about your personality that counts when choosing which island to stay on.
As a water sports enthusiast and a keen sailor, I'd argue is no better place than the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean and Indian Ocean. Not only are they great places for kids to dip their toes in the wonderful world of water sports but also an unbeatable place to relax and recuperate. I have been lucky enough to work in many of the islands of the Caribbean and travel between the pristine white sands of their shores, and I'm always planning my next adventure on and off the water there.
I have worked in the travel industry for many years and have specialized in the Caribbean since the year 2000 so I know this region really well having spent many weeks out there over the years!
I have been lucky enough to visit all of the hotels we feature in our Caribbean portfolio and I have a real passion for these beautiful islands, the culture and the Caribbean way of life!
What I love most about the Caribbean is that every island is unique and offers something different - from the lush, tropical, mountainous island of St Lucia to the lively atmosphere of Barbados with its many restaurants and nightlife. I love the islands of Grenada and Tobago where you can find untouched beaches and an authentic Caribbean experience. As a dive enthusiast, I would recommend the islands of the Bahamas which offer amazingly clear visability and plenty of sharks! Or Grenada which has a great variety of dive sites including the Wreck of the Bianca C.
I love the laid back vibe of the Caribbean, and the friendly “no worries” attitude of the people who live there. Couple that with lush rainforests and stunning beaches; what more could you want from a vacation?
My favorite islands are generally those that are smaller and less developed; Grenada and Nevis spring to mind. With the busy pace of life at home, I love to find my spot on the beach under the shade of a tree, and completely switch off with a good book in my hand.
I have been very spoiled and traveled a lot in the Caribbean on my own family vacations and with Scott Dunn. Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia are some of my favorite islands. Some of my favorite beaches are in Antigua with 365 to chose from, as are some of my favorite hotels! St Lucia is so luscious and green, it reminds me of lakes and mountains in the Alps in the Summer. The island has many lovely beaches, with 3 colors of sand (silver, gold and black) being a volcanic island - not to mention sulphur springs and and mud baths and do try the Bean to Bar experience or plantation tour at Hotel Chocolat!
Having worked in the Mediterranean as a scuba diver, I was keen to see what the underwater world of the Caribbean had in store. I was blown away by its crystal clear waters and marine life. Barbados is a complete gem in the Caribbean, the locals are exceptionally friendly, the island is so beautiful and there are a host of activities to enjoy on its shores, making it the perfect destination for young and old.
The Caribbean is one of my favorite beach destinations, each island offers something completely different catering for everyone. The jerk chicken in Jamaica is unlike anything I have ever eaten, Barbados offers some of the best restaurants in the world and Antigua’s 365 beaches are hard to beat! Grenada is a hidden gem in the Caribbean offering beautiful beaches and an amazing underwater sculpture park, if you are slightly more adventurous head to St Lucia and climb the iconic pitons.
