To provide an overview, the safari will start in Jackson Hole where your safari guide will collect you for a two night, three day safari experience. Moose, elk, deer, bison, pronghorn, fox, coyote, bald and golden eagles, black bears, grizzly bears and even wolves are commonly spotted. The tour will the travel north, routed depending on weather and guests interests, before spending prime time at the famous Lamar Valley, often referred to as the Serengeti of North America. This is the single best wildlife viewing area in Yellowstone and known for the abundance of grizzlies and wolves. In Yellowstone it’s not just the animals that put on a show, photograph the magnificent thermal, bubbling activity of Old Faithful and gorgeous multi-hued Mammoth Hot Springs. The day will end in Silvergate Montana at the Grizzly Lodge. Silvergate is only a half mile from the park entrance and one of the most remote places you will ever spend the night. Enjoy dinner at a local eatery and then roast marshmallows over a fire surrounded by Soda Butte creek and huge mountains.

In the morning wake early to return to Lamar Valley for wolf and bear watching with breakfast and coffee served by your guide in the field. Once you’ve got a fill of the Lamar Valley, it’s a drive over the Beartooth Pass (or the Chief Joseph highway in early season) to Cody which is considered to be the most scenic drive in North America. Travel through remote high desert to Cody where you can spend time learning about the area’s western history and heritage by visiting historic sites and the Buffalo Bill Museum. Dine at a local saloon and overnight at The Cody Hotel or a charming B&B. The next morning the safari will end up high, at sunrise guide will take you into remote high desert wilderness on lesser travelled dirt roads in search of the wild mustang horses of McCullough Peaks that roam freely here. You will return to Cody in time for lunch before travelling back into Yellowstone National Park via the remote east gate with spectacular scenery of the Sylvan Pass. If time allows your guide will take you through the Hayden Valley to see the upper and lower falls of the Yellowstone River as it tumbles into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone before heading south around Yellowstone Lake towards Jackson Hole. The safari will end with an evening of more wildlife as you travel back through Grand Teton National Park to Jackson Hole.
