Average time to visit
Like most California destinations, you can’t go wrong when picking a time of year to visit. Being inland, Napa Valley benefits from much higher summer temperatures than the cool coast, and is a year-round destination but best from April to October.
At the vineyards, September is typically the harvest month, although some varieties may be picked through October and November. Vineyards will be bare from December through February, with new buds returning in March and coming into full bloom by June.
Summer temperatures reach up to around 27 degrees Celsius during the day, and cool off to about 10 degrees in the evenings, so you’ll want to bring a variety of clothes and dress in layers. Winter highs are around 18 degrees with lows occasionally just below freezing. The region averages around 200 days of sunshine per year, so you should have plenty of good weather to enjoy the outdoors.

Meadowood felt like an amazing oasis away from it all, somewhere where you can truly relax. An outdoor lovers dream which offers guests very special, one-off, wine tasting experiences.
The activities on offer are endless and with the Meadowood being a former country club you feel a real sense of community between everyone there. I stayed in the Treeline suite which was idyllic, boasting a huge bed, an even bigger bath (which I thoroughly enjoyed after a long day outside) and a lounge area complete with roaring fire. Make sure to try the toffee in your room, its such a treat!
The wine tasting experience we had at 'The Secret Farmhouse' was one of a kind and exclusive to Meadowood guests only so if you are thinking of staying here I would recommend this, it was a true one-off experience. I would also recommend booking a treatment in the gorgeous spa (awarded 5 stars by Forbes).Overall our stay was incredible; I would highly recommend Meadowood for honeymooners and couples alike and those looking for a stay in a little Napa oasis.

Meadowood is located in a beautiful setting that really does mix nature with contemporary luxury. If I could describe my stay in one word, it would be exceptional. The facilities are extraordinary - its three Michelin star restaurant is superb overlooking the golf course, the spa is stunning and the rooms are modern, contemporary and very spacious. It is very clear that service is their number one priority and the staff are extremely attentive to detail. For the children there are plenty of activities to enjoy and the staff are so attentive at making sure everyone has the most brilliant experience.
