To start planning your holiday to Baccarat Hotel
An iconic gathering spot for New York socialites, The Baccarat is an elegant property in Midtown Manhattan which exudes Parisian glamour, its interiors dazzling with Baccarat crystal. Its design may be eccentric but every detail is simply exquisite.
From the prismatic glass facade to the lavish suites within, The Baccarat is every bit as wonderful as its namesake French Crystal, and it's immediately apparent that designers Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier have done everything to showcase the hotel's heritage as a luxury brand which has stood strong for over 250 years. Classic Parisian elements complement the highly modern fixtures and fittings to create a space that is eclectic yet refined, stylish and fun.
The 114 rooms and suites demonstrate impeccable attention to detail, with clean lines and beautiful furniture accented by custom Baccarat crystal elements, silver-leafed wood panelling, cashmere throws and custom-made bed linens. En suite bathrooms are completed in white marble, continuing the muted colour palette and creating a seamless space. Rather unusually for a New York hotel, rooms and en-suites are spacious.
Michelin-starred chef Shea Gallante heads up the signature restaurant at The Baccarat, Chevalier, a brasserie style dining experience serving up a menu of imaginative French cuisine. For smaller plates, Gallante will also lend his talents to the hotel's Grand Salon. Carefully crafted cocktails can be sipped in the striking bar area or its adjacent terrace, where dark leathers and an impressive barrel-vaulted bar sit side by side with opulent crystal chandeliers and a collection of modern art.
For those who need a reprieve from pounding the New York pavements, The Baccarat has teamed up with luxury skincare brand La Mer to create a meditative spa and pool area, La Mer's first in the United States. Guests can enjoy lounging poolside on private daybeds or indulging in a series of soothing treatments to prep them for days exploring nearby Fifth Avenue, the Museum of Modern Art or Rockefeller Plaza.
There are 114 guest rooms and suites at The Baccarat, each exquisitely decorated combining modern design with classic French style. The overall space is contemporary and elegant, the custom-made furniture and accessories adding a feeling of distinct luxury and the Baccarat Crystal lighting and other elements creating another dimension.
Every room features a plush king-size bed, white marble bathroom, flat-screen TV, complimentary high-speed internet and a one-touch device to control the temperature, lighting and entertainment.
Fine French dining can be enjoyed at Chevalier or in the Grand Salon, both headed up by Michelin-starred chef Shea Gallante. The bar is atmospheric and serves up carefully crafted cocktails in Baccarat Crystal glasses for an indulgent experience.
Custom treatments and soothing therapies are available at the La Mer Spa, and further relaxation can be had at The Baccarat's elegant pool. There is also a 24-hour Fitness Centre with separate room for yoga and pilates.
The Baccarat is ideally located on 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan, just steps away from the famed shopping on Fifth Avenue. Directly opposite is the Museum of Modern Art, housing work by Matisse, Picasso and Koons amongst many others. Other New York attractions such as Times Square, Central Park and the Rockefeller Center are also within easy reach, and the hotel's chauffeur driven Citroën DS is on call to drive you anywhere within a 15-block radius in typical Baccarat fashion.
