This itinerary provides a unique scenic flight over Everest, the beauty of Pokhara's surrounding mountains and the wildlife in Chitwan. Then from here it is on to the incredible and unique country of Bhutan, with incredible scenery and stunning monastries in some of the most impressive landscapes this itinerary will give you a fantastic sense of calm and being at one with nature. In both countries spend your time soaking up the local culture with true once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

  1. Fly to Kathmandu

  2. Days 1-3: Kathmandu

    Enjoy the amazing flight into Kathmandu before settling in and strolling through the bustling labyrinthine streets filled with colourful markets and temples galore. In the evening you can set off on a guided walking tour of Kathmandu, including to the picturesque Durbar Square.

    The next morning either take a leisurely breakfast, relaxing into your trip or make the most of your time in the city to fit in an Everest flight, which truly is once in a lifetime! This one hour flight has spectacular views of the world's highest peaks in all their majesty and it really is closer than most will ever go.  

    Accommodation: The Inn Patan (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-5: Pokhara

    This morning take a flight to Pokhara, an idyllic city in the lap of the Himalayas. On arrival you will have the chance to get stuck straight into your new surroundings with a tour of Pokhara Valley including David's Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, Tal Barahi Temple and Fewa Lake to name a few. The stunning lake side setting really is a photographers dream.
    The following morning you will have a chance to head into the mountainous countryside with a gentle hike which offers fantastic views of the Annapurna range. The snow-capped mountains and charming local villages create a beautifully tranquil setting. As you walk your guide will be able to impart wisdom on local cultures and traditions which continue to bring the country alive.

  4. Days 5-8: Chitwan National Park

    Today drive to Chitwan National Park about 5 hours from Pokhara and settle into the beautiful Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge, enjoy some time by the pool or by take a stroll down to the Narayani River where you can watch the resident elephants bathe in the river whilst you enjoy a sumptuous sundowner.

    Over the three days in Tiger Tops you will be able to enjoy a whole host of activities including river safaris, jeep safaris, chats with resident naturalists and walking safaris. In this national park you will have the chance to see the endangered Gharial crocodile and one horned rhinoceros alongside a huge array of deer, birds, monkeys and if you are lucky the Bengal Tiger! The onsite naturalists are hugely knowledgeable so make sure to pick their brains whilst driving around in the comfort of one of the classic vintage Land Rovers.

    Accommodation: Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge (3 nights)

  5. Days 8-9: Kathmandu

    Spend one night back in Kathmandu, before your onward flight to Paro, at the beautiful Dwarikas, where you will be able to indulge in an incredible 22 course meal!

  6. Days 9-10: Thimphu

    Today you will fly to the Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon, Bhutan! After being taken to the airport you will be a given a friendly goodbye from our staff in Kathmandu, before being met at Paro by our Bhutan team.

    On arrival you will be taken directly to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan which still very much has a small town feel where the meeting of old and new can clearly be felt. You will have one night here staying at the Druk Hotel to explore the quaint streets and learning more about the local culture before continuing the next day to Punakha.

    Accommodation: Druk Hotel (1 night)

  7. Days 10-12: Punakha

    Today you will be whisked to Punakha, the drive takes you over the Dochu La Pass where the Himalayas stretches as far as the eye can see. You will then descend into the valley, sitting at the confluence of the Mother and Father Rivers, Punakha is located in a beautiful fertile valley and is home to one of Bhutan's most beautiful and impressive sites, The Punakha Dzong. The landscapes and climate here are much more tropical, owing to its lower altitude, and it is great to explore the valley in exciting ways such as white-water rafting, trekking and mountain biking to name a few!

    Accommodation: Dhensa Punakha (2 nights)

  8. Days 12-15: Paro

    Your final stop in Bhutan is Paro, which boasts some of Bhutan's most celebrated sights including of course the famous Tiger's Nest Monastery. With an array of monasteries, colourful wooden fronted shops as well as plenty of people watching to enjoy, it is a great spot to spend a couple of days.

    Any trip to Bhutan would not be complete without experiencing Tiger's Nest Monastery which you will have the chance to do on your final full day in the city, making for a spectacular end to an incredible adventure!
