The most magical property in the Sacred Valley, Sol y Luna captures guests the minute you step into the lobby. As you're escorted to your room you are greeted by multi coloured flowers flanking you on each side and a serene environment everywhere you turn. With two restaurants on site, guests have no shortage of dining options. The property is also a great option for bird spotting. Adventures include horse riding, mountain biking quad biking, canoeing and white water rafting.

The Sol y Luna is a delightful property the beautiful gardens are a riot of colour and attract a multitude of birds: hummingbirds flit around and birdsong is the backing track. The casitas are dotted about the garden built of stone, adobe and tiles they blend into the mountainous background and inside are warm and inviting with quirky bright artwork and sculptures by Federico Bauer and rustic wooden furniture. At night those staying in the huge Deluxe and Premier Casitas can relax by their fireplace or soak in their freestanding bathtub. Families can either stay in connecting Deluxe casitas or share one of the duplex Superior casitas. For a small property Sol y Luna offers so much: the Yacu Wasi spa, a library and comfortable lounge and for food there is Wayra popular by day for the spectacular display of Paso Peruvian horses over a pan-Peruvian streetfood lunch and chilled at night and where they often have local entertainment and circus acts in high season. The elegant Killa Wasi restaurant and bar serves light, interesting dishes using the best Andean ingredients.

The setting of the Sol y Luna is sublime, with beautiful gardens overlooked by the Andes, and it felt like a haven of peace. It's a great place to acclimatise if arriving from the coast as it is lower than Cuzco, and consequently warmer, and makes a very pleasant stopover after visiting Machu Picchu, and although the temptation is simply to relax in such glorious surroundings, there are plenty of activities from horse riding and river rafting, as well as Inca market towns and ruins to keep you occupied. The Sol y Luna has recently built some suites, which are probably now the finest accommodation in the Sacred Valley.
