Average time to visit

Landlocked and surrounded by mountains, Kyrgyzstan enjoys sunshine and low rainfall for most of the year. In winter, the Arctic winds bring in precipitation, snowfall and cold sub-zero temperatures. As such, Kyrgyzstan is particularly good to visit between spring to late autumn (April-October).

Set on the golden sands of its very own beach, Hotel Marco Polo occupies an enviable position on the shores of spectacular Lake Issyk-Kul. This large, resort-style hotel has a wealth of facilities and focuses on the healing properties of the clear alpine air and pristine water of the lake.

Accommodation ranges from simple double rooms to multi-bedroom cottages and townhouses right on the beach, each equipped with bathrooms and satellite television. Décor is somewhat dated, but the rooms are comfortable and clean.

Along with a dedicated spa offering a wide variety of treatments, including traditional massages and more unique mineral therapies, the hotel is home to football pitches and tennis, volleyball and basketball courts.  Three restaurants (serving Italian, western and traditional central Asian cuisine) and a relaxed coffee shop are all located within the hotel’s grounds.  The hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lake Issyk-Kul.
