Elephant Pepper Camp is closed in April to Mid June.
The only time to avoid Kenya is during the long rainy season in April and May. November is considered the short rainy season, however, these are less predictable and are much lighter. The best time of year to visit the Maasai Mara is during the Great Wildebeest Migration which tends to pass through the Mara between mid July to late October.

Day 1 – Arrival and the Wild Heart of Lewa Touch down in Nairobi and begin your journey north to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Your Scott Dunn concierge will whisk you through the city with ease before your light aircraft flight over vast savannah. Settle into the serene Elewana Kifaru House, surrounded by acacia-dotted plains. This afternoon, enjoy your first game drive—perhaps spotting rhino or Grevy’s zebra—with expert guides who tailor the pace to all ages. Evenings here are tranquil, with fireside stories and family dinners under the stars.
Day 2 – Rhinos, Rangers, and Conservation Secrets Awaken to golden light spilling across the Lewa plains. Today offers a deeper look into the conservancy’s pioneering conservation work—families can meet local rangers, visit the anti-poaching unit, or track endangered black rhino on a private drive. Younger explorers can join gentle bush walks to learn about animal tracks and plants. Back at Kifaru House, unwind by the pool or on the veranda, watching elephants amble by. The day closes with sundowners and shared wonder at Kenya’s thriving wild heart.
Day 3 – Exploring Lewa at Your Own Rhythm A day to follow your family’s rhythm. Take to the hills on horseback or camel, feeling part of the landscape, or join a morning drive in search of big cats. Today you might also leave the vehicle behind to explore the rich diversity of Lewa’s idyllic montane forest—enjoy a picnic by the river, a dip in azure pools, or a canopy walk spotting monkeys and the rare narina trogon. As the sun dips low, your guide finds the perfect spot for one last golden Lewa sunset.
