The Majlis occupies a unique location on the exclusive Manda Island facing the world-renowned Lamu on Kenya's North Coast (East Africa). The Lamu Archipelago is a small group of islands situated on Kenya’s northern coast line. It is made up of Lamu Island, Manda island , Pate island and Kiwayu Island.

It is an 8-hour 30-minute international flight to Nairobi. There are 3 scheduled flights from Nairobi to Lamu each day, taking approximately 1-hour 30-minute by light aircraft. On arriving at Lamu airport there is a 20-minute boat ride to the lodge. Alternatively, charter a flight directly from Nairobi to Lamu.
