Luxury Ski Holidays in Méribel

Part of the Trois Vallées, Méribel offers a luxury ski experience.

  • Méribel ski holidays tailored to you
  • Ski schools with English-speaking instructors
  • Seamless service from Scott Dunn with 24/7 customer support
  • Award-winning experts to help create a unique trip

Méribel is a lively, popular ski resort in the middle of the largest linked lift network in the world. It’s impossible to tire of the Trois Vallées and their seemingly limitless supply of sweeping groomed runs, as well as some exciting off-piste terrain. Our bespoke ski holidays in Méribel are suitable for all abilities and offer some fantastic activities for non-skiers.

At 1,450m, Méribel is at the heart of the Trois Vallées. While the snow is superior in Courchevel and Val Thorens, the excellent lift system can get you to the best slopes anyway. Unlike other purpose-built French resorts, Méribel is more traditional in style. Its satellite villages might be less lively, but the main village is always bustling.

As well as enjoying the 600km of runs, including beginner greens, blues and a wealth of intermediate and advanced terrain, there's plenty you can do in the village itself, with various bars, eateries and live music on most evenings. Non-skiers have their pick of ice skating, swimming and bowling at the Olympic Park or can enjoy exploring the scenic hiking trails.

If you're looking for easy access to the extensive offerings of the Trois Vallées with traditional French charm, our carefully curated Méribel ski holidays provide the perfect solution.

"Hidden in amongst the trees, Le Clos Bernard is the perfect restaurant to enjoy a traditional French lunch after a morning of skiing the Trois Vallées. With both indoor and outdoor tables, it's an ideal place to enjoy a cosy hot chocolate on those colder January days as well as an al-fresco style Savoyard lunch during the sunnier weeks later in the season."

Where To Stay in Méribel

Our hand-picked luxury Méribel ski resort accommodation features a selection of ski-in ski-out and family-friendly Alpine-style hotels. So, whether you're taking a weekend ski break in Méribel or want to plan a longer holiday, you'll find the ideal ski chalet or boutique hotel to suit your needs.

Skiing in Méribel

There's no doubt that Méribel ski holidays with Scott Dunn cater to all skiing abilities and, with 600km of runs, there is something for everyone – from cruising blues and greens to a fair amount of steep and deep runs that will challenge even the most experienced.

Méribel is made up of three parts: Méribel Centre, Méribel Village and Méribel-Mottaret. The three villages are each linked into the lift system which forms the heart of the famous Trois Vallées ski area.

The beginner area is above the village, at the mid-station of the Rhodos lift, meaning that it is out of the way of skiers funnelling down into the Chaudanne lift centre. It also keeps good conditions on a sunny day. There is an excellent section of gentle greens around the Altiport and a roped-off area for first-timers with a magic carpet and plenty of space for lessons. ESF is the largest ski school, with English-speaking instructors available. New Generation, Snow Systems and Magic Snowsports also offer ski lessons, while heli-skiing is available for the more adventurous.

There are a few spots that shouldn’t be missed on a Méribel ski holiday. Mont Vallon is a must on a sunny day for the views (or, on a powder day, to head off-piste), while mogul fans won’t be satisfied until they’ve tackled Bosses under the Plan de l’Homme chair, and the whole valley is filled with intertwining reds and blues that are an intermediate’s paradise. For those in the know, there are also some fantastic off-piste runs, notably on the back of Mont Vallon and above Les Allues.

Things To Do in Méribel

While skiing is likely to feature heavily in your itinerary, our Méribel resort guide features a range of off-slope activities – perfect for families. Getting around is easy – there is an efficient, free bus service which runs around the resort in three loops. All begin in Méribel Centre and head to either Méribel Village, Mottaret or the Altiport via Morel. Once in the village centre, everything is within a few minutes walk.

Insider Tips For Your Ski Holiday in Méribel

New to the resort? Our top insider tips from our expert will enhance your Méribel ski holiday experience:

  • Stick to the bright Tougnète side of the valley in the morning and take in the afternoon sun on the Saulire side when it has softened up.
  • Avoid the last section of Martre/Aigle into Mottaret and the Doron into Méribel Centre at the end of the day to avoid the crowd.
  • Snowboarders, watch out for the Ours and Truite runs, both with a few long stretches of flat – you may need a skier friend to lend you a pole.
  • Use the Col de la Loze to cross over into Courchevel; the top of Saulire gets very busy at times.
  • For the most backcountry experience to be had on a powder day, head over early to La Masse on the far side of Val Thorens. It's a bit of a journey but well worth it!
