Méribel-Mottaret offers great skiing throughout the winter. The Méribel valley itself has both sunny south facing slopes, which are ideal on colder days, and higher more shaded skiing on Mont Vallon with snow-sure slopes. On one side, the North-facing slopes of Courchevel offer further great skiing and on the other, the Val Thorens valley has some of Europe's highest altitude skiing. Easy access to the entire Three Valleys makes it hard to beat from December through to late April.

Description
This family run hotel in Méribel Mottaret is in the heart of the Trois Vallées, the world’s largest ski area. Ideal for laid back family ski holidays, the Alpen Ruitor offers friendly and comfortable accommodation in traditional Alpine style.
The four star Alpen Ruitor is a cosy, Alpine style hotel, with a fabulous ski in / ski out setting on the slopes. The staff could not try any harder to make you feel welcome and for this reason, the Alpen Ruitor has gained a fabulous reputation in Méribel.
The location can hardly be beaten - it's just a few steps from the ski locker room to the lift which can take you to any of the Trois Vallées ski areas, meaning you can get a good couple of runs in before the Courchevel skiers come over the mountain! It's close to the ski school meeting point, and right by the nursery slopes, making it ideal for families with young children and beginners. There's tobogganing there too.
Extremely family friendly, the hotel prides itself on offering a flexible approach to dining by offering early children’s tea at 6.30pm in high season (there's a kid's menu) along with the option of taking half board for lunch instead of dinner. The food is international and traditional Savoyarde cuisine, with extensive breakfasts designed to set you up for the day. Lunch on the sunny terrace is highly recommended and the steaks are especially good. The restaurant, bar and drawing room are all welcoming and cosy, with a warming fire in the latter, making it a relaxing place to sit after a day's skiing.
The hotel has an intimate Spa with a range of treatments, and guests can also have an in-room massage. There is complimentary access to the Health and Fitness Centre in Méribel which has an Olympic size swimming pool and ice rink. Guests can use the free shuttle service in the afternoons into Méribel centre.

Reviews
Kirsty Edwards (Staff)
When it comes to location, it's pretty hard to beat the Alpenruitor. The fact that you can ski from the door directly to the bottom of the Plattieres lift linking straight over towards Val Thorens or the Pas du Lac heading over to Courchevel means that essentially you are smack bang in the middle of the Trois Valles. The hotel itself feels more Tyrolean than French, the staff are dressed in traditional Austrian outfits and there is an incredible array of delicious homemade cakes and cookies waiting for you on your return from skiing in the afternoon.
Every room has a view either down the valley towards Meribel or looking up towards Mont Vallon, each with a balcony.
Breakfast is an incredible buffet spread, complete with a sandwich making station so that you can make your own snack to take up the mountain with you - I've never seen this actively encouraged in any hotel I've visited and it's a welcome sight!!
