Manoir Hovey the most beautiful hotel that is simply very difficult to fault, and has year-round appeal. We have stayed in a few Relais & Chateaux hotels before and I think this has to be my favourite. We visited in August and were fortunate enough to stay in the modern newer suites at the top of the property, where you can find total privacy and comfort. The suites were huge with a terrace overlooking the lake below including a hot tub.
The food was delicious, we tried the tasting menu with wine pairings one evening which was divine. The food is crafted from local and international influences giving it a unique and interesting flavour and the wine pairings were spot on. We tried many locally produced wines, which admittedly surprised me by their quality.
The grounds were so pretty, and with summer in full bloom, the flowers were gorgeous. With temperatures in the high 20s we were able to swim in Lake Massawippi, it was hard to imagine it frozen over in the winter months!
I can highly recommend taking the hotel bikes out for a ride around the lake into North Hatley, a charming village with a couple of small pubs and restaurants. I would also suggest pre-dinner cocktails on the lawn overlooking the lake. Manoir Hovey is a top choice for a romantic stay, and is of course a food lovers paradise!

Manoir Hovey is the ultimate retreat throughout all seasons. In the summer months you can spend your days swimming in the lake, paddle-boarding, walking, cycling or canoeing. In the winter, ice skating, cross country skiing, private ice fishing excursions and snow shoeing are all available. The food at this Relais et Chateaux property is outstanding, make sure you indulge in the pecan crusted French toast for breakfast - it will set you up for the day!
