San Francisco is a year-round destination but has a cool maritime climate. In the summer, the city’s famous fog rolls in mornings and evenings, creating a misty chill in the air. Spring sees the end of the rainy season, and the city’s pretty-in-pink cherry blossom trees dot the landscape. In Autumn Indian Summer comes to San Francisco, bringing warm, dry days with plenty of sunshine. The very best time of year is August to October when temperatures are at their highest and days are often sunny.

The hotel offers The Bear & Monarch restaurant which offers a full service throughout the day including breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner as well as late night snacks and a signature bar menu. The menu focusses on rustic, American dishes made with local ingredients, crafted with attention to detail. The speciality cocktail menu packs a punch of its own, as well as offering local craft beers and some of California’s finest wines. The restaurant design draws inspiration from San Francisco itself, and gives subtle nods to the city’s Gold Rush and maritime history. The restaurants’ name directly relates to the bear on the California state flag which is modelled on a California grizzly bear named Monarch, who for a period of time, lived at Golden Gate Park.

The Rooftop Bar “Spirits in the Sky” is located on the 40th floor Sky Deck and is San Francisco’s highest outdoor venue. The inventive rotating cocktail menu is only rivalled by the stunning panoramic views of the City by the Bay. There’s no better place in all of San Francisco to enjoy a well-made drink and watch the sun set over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Within walking distance from the hotel there are a variety of coffee shops, and several breakfast spots on Market Street, all easily accessible with a short 'trolley' ride.

The comprehensive fitness centre is located alongside the spa on our 3rd floor. All guests are provided with complimentary amenities including headphones, towels, fresh fruit and bottled water.

San Francisco, the West Coast’s unpretentious culture capital offers world-class restaurants, including 17 Michelin-starred eateries within city limits, as well as museums and shopping. The Loews Regency is ideally located to explore the city, walk to the junction of Sansome Street and take the old fashioned trolley along Market Street towards Union Square, or down towards Embarcadero from where you can take the F line from the Ferry Building up to Fisherman's Wharf. San Francisco is incredibly easy to navigate by foot, bicycle, bus, trolley or taxi. It’s also a gateway to the nearby wine country of the Napa Valley.

In downtown San Francisco you can browse art galleries, visit bustling Chinatown, get a handle on the geography by climbing one of the city’s famed hills or take the cable car, go shopping in the fashion epi-center Union Square, board a bay cruise at Fisherman’s Wharf to take it all in from the water or book ahead to visit Alcatraz Island, take a stroll across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and lunch in charming Sausalito.

This would be a perfect location to stay if you just had a few nights in San Francisco. You are close enough to the tram connections to get around to all of the touristy spots, or alternatively the concierge can book you taxis to get around. Located in the financial district you can really easily reach the shopping of the city, whether it is the Designer shops around Union Square or the more commercial shops in the Westfield centre. I would recommend getting around on the old trolleys and trams as it is much more fun for the family or even as a couple. I would definitely recommend pre-booking some excursions, especially Alcatraz and any sport matches.
