Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The Winelands are a wonderful year-round destination and enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, somewhat like the South of France, which is what makes the area perfect for grape-growing. Summer in Franschhoek is the reverse of the Northern hemisphere. The best season visit is September to March when it is hot, sunny and dry. From April to August it cools down with some rain.

Description
La Galerie, which sleeps four truly is a testament to style and elegance, nestled in the Winelands amongst the South African mountains. Originally themed with rather gracious yet vibrant colours it is really a gem in this area, and worth a stay at.
Ever changing throughout the year, experience the seasonal differences as you move from warm cosy evenings by the fireplace sipping a glass of local wine, to cooking a sumptuous steak on the barbecue in the summer months. This villa can happily and suitably accommodate all seasons and occasions for four guests.
Decorated by esteemed designer Sarah Ord bold colours and combinations work effortlessly to create an avant-garde warm and sleek atmosphere throughout. Something that guests will find quite special is the eclectic art that has been hung on the walls, really infusing the vibrancy and colours of South Africa. Though the villa is stunning the true beauty comes when you wander outside, there is a lovely terrace and a panoramic view that cant help but soothe the soul.
This villa appeals to families as with the bold and bright infusion of colours, you are provided with a hypnotic and lively sense of living. There is a corridor between the two rooms, so apply separation and privacy which can extent to both rooms private verandas where you wont fail to be mesmerised at the surroundings with every new time of day.
The true reason that many people visit is to make the most of the area and indulge themselves in wine tasting and vineyard explorations. These should not be missed and after you have honed in your sommelier skills come back and take the plunge in your private pool or make a lovely meal in your well-appointed kitchen and reminisce on the days' activities, best served with another helping of more exquisite wine!
Reviews
Amber Hopkins (Staff)
For those who prefer villa style accommodation to hotels then this is an absolute winner! Set amongst a vineyard and orchard with mountainous surrounds, La Cle des Montagnes is situated just a 5 minute walk away from the main street of Franschhoek and makes for a welcome escape for couples and families alike. There are four properties on site - the largest with four bedrooms, one with three bedrooms, and two with two bedrooms, and each decorated by the same South African interior designer but in very different yet fabulous styles. Le Galerie is one of the two bedroom properties and is certainly the most striking with an abundance of contemporary artwork, bright colours and bold prints, a cool industrial-style kitchen, and talking points throughout. The view from the terrace and gardens is absolutely incredible and can be enjoyed from the pool which receives sun throughout the day. Your butlers are so friendly and helpful, and really help make your stay that extra bit special.
