Average time to visit
The Winelands are a wonderful year-round destination and enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, somewhat like the South of France, which is what makes the area perfect for grape-growing. Summer in Franschhoek is the reverse of the Northern hemisphere. The best season visit is September to March when it is hot, sunny and dry. From April to August it cools down with some rain.

Description
16 Cabrière is a luxurious private villa located in the heart of South Africa's Cape Winelands, ideal for families or celebrations. Home for eight guests, it is within easy walk of Franschhoek's restaurants and shops, tucked away on a quiet side street.
A modern and fresh feeling house on a favoured street, benefiting from enchanting mountain and vineyard scenes, 16 Cabrière provides a peaceful yet stylish retreat. Taking inspiration from both the past and present, the villa has a classic Cape Dutch thatched roof but also nods to contemporary South African fine art in its interior.
Four charming and airy bedrooms over two floors with views of the garden, orchards, pool and Mont Rochelle vine-clad hills, complement spacious open-plan living and dining areas. These can extend to the terrace, garden and sheltered Braai (BBQ) area via concertina doors, effortlessly blending these spaces. A heated swimming pool and yoga/meditation room are available for guests throughout their stay and a sustainable approach means nearly all electricity needed on site is provided by solar panels.
The villa's very own chef, Simba, trained by Michelin-starred chefs, will cater to guests' appetite from a well-stocked kitchen and pantry and even has his own apartment a short distance from the villa. When venturing outside the villa, guests are minutes from Franschhoek's celebrated shops, fine restaurants, bars and art galleries. Exclusive tours can also be arranged to secret wine estates from 16 Cabière where guests can have a "behind the scenes" look at the workings of an industry dating back to the 17th century.

Each of the four rooms is different in style, but all are comfortably designed, with beautiful bedlinens, woodburning fireplaces to keep them cosy in the winter months, and all are ensuite. Two of the rooms are on the upper level, with lovely views over the valley and vineyards, whilst two are on the ground floor overlooking the gardens. There is a fifth small bedroom available for a nanny or extra children if needed.
Childcare
There is an additional bedroom for extra children or a nanny at the property.
Facilities
