The Delfin boats operate year-round, and every voyage is uniquely appealing, based on the changing seasons. During the wetter season from December to May, the river and estuaries grow, allowing launch boats to venture deeper into the flooded forest. During the 'drier' season from June to November, the river recedes and beautiful sandy river beaches form. In a typical year, the Amazon experiences 200 rainy days, which means that there will be days of heavy rain even in the Amazon’s low water season.

One of the Amazon’s most luxurious and exclusive cruise boats, the Delfin I offers superlative accommodation, fine dining and wonderful service to let you glide through the remotest stretches of the Peruvian Amazon in incomparable style.
Beginning and ending in Nauta near Iquitos in the Peruvian Amazon, the Delfin I will take you on 3- and 4-night expeditions into the extraordinary Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Wedged between the Ucayali and Maranon tributaries, the reserve is a huge protected flooded forest, boasting astonishing biodiversity including an amazing variety of birds and primates, pink river dolphins, giant otters and caimans.
There is also a spectacular diversity of traditional inhabitants who have lived in the rain forest for thousands of years who survive by subsistence activities like fishing, small-scale agriculture, hunting and gathering.
Activities vary seasonally according to water levels and may include interpretive jungle walks with your guide, exploration of the smaller streams in the boat's skiffs and kayaks, visits to local indigenous communities and even swimming with pink river dolphins.
On the top deck, a casually elegant viewing deck is the perfect place to while away the hottest hours and watch the river banks glide by with a cocktail in hand, or enjoy an incredible sunset seated on plush white sofas. At night the star-gazing is breathtaking.
On the main deck, there are two deluxe suites with 180° wrap-around panoramic windows, beautiful wood panelling, fine Peruvian linens, silent air conditioning and state of the art amenities including environmentally friendly toiletries, private whirlpool bath and an outside terrace. On the second deck are two master suites, a tiny bit smaller than the deluxe suites and without the whirlpool bath.
Dining on the Delfin offers unrivalled sophistication that draws on the freshness and abundance of the rainforest and highlands. Imagine yourself returning from a day in the remote wilderness to enjoy a candle-lit table and fine china, while your taste buds are tingled by new and exotic flavour sensations. The Delfin is also equipped with an entertainment centre with an open bar, DVDs, books about the Amazon and even an X-cube for the children.
The cabins aboard the Delfin I offer an exclusive jungle experience. There are two deluxe suites with private plunge pool on the main deck and two master suites (without plunge pool) on the second deck, all with stunning views of the passing Amazon basin scenery from their floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Cabins are 34 m² with a 32 m² private terrace.
The Delfin I welcomes families with children age seven or older. Kids 7 to 11 get a 20% discount. The guides on board take great care of children and will entertain them as well, especially during siesta time. Special children's menus are available for meal times.
When families charter the entire vessel, younger kids may join the cruise.
Bar, restaurant, entertainment centre, library, DVDs; the Delfin I also has skiffs, two paddle boards and kayaks to take guests on excursions to visit wildlife sites, indigenous peoples and small creek explorations.
During the cruise, a multitude of inclusive excursions (in small groups) are offered, including canopy discoveries in the treetops, hiking & trail walks, fishing for piranhas & other underwater wonders, kayaking, bird watching, swimming with dolphins, skiff explorations along the banks, and visiting native communities. Speedboats are used for every excursion holding up to 10 guests and a bilingual guide. They can arrange private excursions for an additional charge and these must be booked ahead of your arrival.
