Designed by owner-architect Sebastian Sas, Be Tulum is a beautifully designed and conceived boutique hotel. With no TVs to disturb the sound of the waves and the breeze, this peaceful hideaway is all about relaxation. Seamlessly blending luxury and nature, this ultra-stylish retreat stands out from most hotels on the Riviera Maya with an enviable beachfront location that bridges turquoise waters and tropical rainforest.
The twenty suites are contemporary works of art, with a minimalist mix of local limestone, warm Brazilian woods, cowhide rugs and bold mosaic tiles. The suites are very spacious, and come with Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and outdoor showers. Upstairs suites have their own balcony and Jacuzzi, while those on the ground floor have an outside terrace. Suites 16 and 20 have rooftop pools and glass walls, providing a 360-degree view of the ocean and Sian Ka'an Reserve.
Meandering through the property is a plank-pathway leading to an infinity pool and a restaurant where delicious fresh seafood dishes and light Mexican snacks are served. Private yoga lessons and in-room massages can be arranged upon request.
Attracting a stylish crowd, the hotel is still down-to-earth, and owner Sebastian will often hang out with guests in the evening, adding to the hotel’s friendly, laid-back feel. There are giant beds on the beach for sprawling in the sun, and adding to the barefoot-cool appeal are the beach yoga classes, in-room massages, and low-key live music at the popular rooftop bar.
