Go from zingy ceviche at Tinta del Pulpo to sophisticated Latin American cuisine in the homely surrounds of Casa Amate and finish with live music and cocktails with your toes in the sand at Sotavento. 

Two outdoor pools make the most of the Mexican sun, while the indulgent Naum Wellness and Spa boasts two hydrotherapy areas and six treatment rooms for relaxing rituals and innovative facial treatments. Accommodation

There are 214 guestrooms and suites, all of which are open-plan and spacious, offering a private terrace or balcony. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure plenty of light floods in and rooms enjoy views to either the resort gardens, mangrove lagoons or the Caribbean Sea. WiFi is complimentary, as is bottled water and the contents of the minibar. Standard Rooms measure from 50 sqm while the suites measure up to 425 sqm. All suites also come with a private plunge pool.

Andaz Mayakoba has five restaurants which serve up fresh local ingredients. Tinta del Pulpo and Olla Ceviche are casual beachfront affairs with fresh seafood or street food style snacks with deliciously refreshing cocktails. Casa Amate is a cosy restaurant which specialises in Latin American cuisine and Cocina Milagro offers an all-day dining buffet with fresh seafood dishes. The Sotavento restaurant serves up Mediterranean delicacies throughout the day, complemented by live music in the evenings.

Activities

The endless Caribbean waters provide plenty fo opportunities to enjoy watersports such as SUP, snorkelling and kayaking. Playa del Carmen is a 15-minute drive away and has many dining options and great nightlife for those who wish to get out of the resort and explore. Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula is also rich with natural attractions and historical sites, including the impressive Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum, as well as cenotes (natural swimming holes) which are great for snorkelling or diving and cooling off from the Caribbean heat.
