From thrilling safari to remote coastline, Kenya is pure magic. Wake up to a giraffe wandering past your bedroom window and warthogs at the front door at Giraffe Manor, a country house-style property in the leafy Nairobi suburb of Karen. Guests are encouraged to feed the giraffe, who eagerly poke their heads through windows of the breakfast room.
Then head off the beaten track to the Meru National Park and the beautiful Elsa's Kopje, which is sculpted into the Mughwango Hill, with each of the nine cottages crafted around the rocks, with breathtaking views out over the bush. As well as the nine cottages there is Elsa's private house; ideal for families to hire exclusively. Spend your days here on game drives with the incredible guides, visit local tribes and communities, and venture into the rhino sanctuary to learn about this fascinating endangered species.
Then complete your Kenyan adventure with a safari in the heart of the magical plains of the Maasai Mara at Elephant Pepper Camp. One of the highlights of Kenya’s premier wildlife reserves; the endless grasslands are broken up by tree-lined rivers and the abundance of animals includes cheetah, lion, rhino, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and the spectacular annual wildebeest migration. Enjoy learning bush skills from the world-class Maasai warriors or get the croquet set out for a game on the lawn in front of the lodge.

When to go
Kenya is a dry country, with regional variations in temperature and rainfall. On the coast, the weather is tropical with high humidity in April and May, and occasional monsoon winds. Inland (including the Central Highlands and Rift Valley) the climate is temperate. The long rains fall from March to May and the short rains fall from late October to December. The best time to visit is usually July to February, and the wildebeest migration usually occurs from mid-July to September.
