Days 4-8: Tuscany
Your next stop is the magnificent rolling hills of rural Tuscany. Renowned for its breath-taking landscapes, this region is known as one of Italy’s most beautiful, thanks to its verdant hills scattered with olive groves and vineyards. Here you’ll spend four nights at the exclusive COMO Castello del Nero, a luxurious retreat nestled in the undulating hills of the Chianti region of Tuscany. Siena, Florence and Pisa are just a stone's throw away and you can take your pick from superb local Chianti wineries. Relax at COMO Shambhala Retreat, the first in Europe, an elegant, cocooning sanctuary for therapeutic treatments including massage, yoga and Guinot facials.
Of course whilst you are here you must sample the delectable Chianti wines. On a private tasting tour, start at Castello di Fonterutoli and enjoy a private tour of the cellar, where you'll learn about their contemporary production techniques which boast a low environmental impact. Taste a selection of the wines before continuing on to Badia a Coltibuono, once a fortified monastery, where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch alongside the wines. Cycle through the spectacular Val d'Orcia on an e-bike with your private guide. Starting with a guided walk through Pienza, your guide will then lead you on bikes through the beautiful landscapes to the medieval village of Monticchiello, then on to the Bagno Vignoni thermal baths, before you return to Pienza. During your stay in Tuscany, take part in as many of the activities as you’d like, or simply relax and take in the incredible views.
