The climate in Val Gardena is a typical alpine microclimate - winters are long and cold and from December to February average temperatures are below zero and night time temperatures can fall to minus 20°C. There are great differences between daytime and night time temperatures. Winters are snowy but approximately 100 days of sunshine between December and March is the norm.

The region has an excellent snow record, slopes for all abilities and a modern lift infrastructure. With only 54 rooms and suites, all of which are elegantly and comfortably furnished, it remains an intimate hotel. Each one is exceptionally spacious and they all have views over the village, the gardens and the mountains beyond.

The Gardena Mini Club is a supervised children's club available for children from 3 years old and available between 3pm and 11pm, 6 days per week. The Mini Club features a playroom with activity corner stocked with games and an outdoor playground. Dinner is included at the children's table. A babysitting service is available on request. For little skiers Ortisei is an ideal environment to build confidence with.
The amazing 2000 sqm Gardena Spa is a reason to visit in itself, with wellness facilities, gym and a beauty centre. The wellness space is an area guests can truly relax and experience pure wellness in. With large indoor pool, selection of saunas, steam baths, ladies only spa, cold water pool and large outdoor jacuzzi.
Fine dining has always been at the heart of the hotel ethos. The hotel has two restaurants and an extensively stocked wine cellar with around 650 labels. The hotel's elegant Gardena Restaurant has a spacious buffet area, four comfortable dining rooms and one Tyrolean Stube with traditional stove. The Anna Stuben gourmet one Michelin Star restaurant is an intimate space, catering for up to 25 guests so advance booking is recommended.
The ski domain is known as the Dolomiti Superski and consists of 460 lifts and 760 miles of ski runs. The area consists of 12 valleys all accessible under one ski pass. Apart from downhill skiing the area offers some of the most beautiful settings for those who enjoy cross country skiing, excursions with mountain guides, snow shoeing, ice climbing or simply sledging.
In the winter the Hotel Gardena offer ski guiding with their ski instructor four times per week to discover the area.
