Rome enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate. Summers (from June to September) are hot and dry with temperatures often soaring to 37°C. High humidity is also common, particularly in July and August. Winter tends to be moderate, at least by northern European standards, with temperatures averaging around 10°C to 15°C between December and February. Spring (March to June) and early autumn (September and October) are the best times to visit Rome, with lovely blue skies and mild temperatures. November and December are the two wettest months.
Starting in mid-June, the summer rush really picks up, and from July to mid-September the Rome teems with visitors. August is the worst month: Not only does it get uncomfortably hot, muggy, and crowded, but the entire country goes on vacation at least from August 15 to the end of the month (many Italians take off the entire month). Many hotels, restaurants, and shops are closed.

Hotel de la Ville is a stylish hotel perfectly placed in the heart of beautiful Roma. Situated at the top of the Spanish Steps, Hotel de la Ville offers 104 rooms and suites and its the atmosphere feels like the perfect home from home. Our Junior Suite was spacious with a sitting area and a large bathroom. The rooms feel fresh and comfortable and each offers all of the amenities that you would expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and efficient and you can choose to sit inside the stylish art deco dining room or outside in the courtyard. The rooftop bar is a highlight in this property and I imagine that in the summer, it is busy and the atmosphere is lively and fun. The hotel offers multiple options for dining; traditional Italian in the main dining room, regional tapas in the courtyard and light bites in the first floor bar. The spacious spa offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and it features Irene Forte Skincare. The hotel offers many different inter-connecting options and this hotel is good for couples, families and even multi-generational groups.
