The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is in spring or late summer, when temperatures are pleasant and humidity levels are low. In July and August the climate is hot and humid, while the area is busy with tourists. Hotels in the Amalfi Coast tend to close for the winter, starting in October until they reopen in late March or April.

Built into the cliffs in the town of Amalfi, the Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi is a beautifully renovated monastery with stunning sea views and a fascinating history dating back to the 12th century that is manifested in the beautiful cloister and church.
Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi is a beautiful contemporary boutique hotel that carries a long and interesting history dating back to the 12th century. The stunning Arab-Norman cloister and church have maintained some of their original frescoes and other details and look spectacular against the backdrop of the sea.
Convento di Amalfi is fantastically positioned a 2-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the port of Amalfi as well as the local shops and restaurants. The central location makes it a great base from which to explore not only the town but also the rest of what the stunning coast has to offer such as the gorgeous towns of Positano and Ravello.
The hotel has 53 rooms and suites are elegant and contemporary and decorated in a simple and neutral style. They all offer spectacular sea views, lovely Italian terracotta floors and marble bathrooms.
Dei Cappuccini, the hotel's restaurant spills from inside the dining room to the outdoor terrace and overlooks the sea and the Amalfi Coast. Delicious Mediterranean dishes are made with the freshest ingredients and served for lunch and supper and there is a spectacular buffet for breakfast each morning. There is also a bar serving cocktails and a wide selection of teas.
A short walk along the lovely lemon garden takes you to the terrace and infinity pool area which is kitted out with sun loungers, beautiful views and a poolside restaurant and bar that serves snacks and drinks until 6pm and light lunches from 1-3pm.
There is also a wellbeing centre that has a number of treatment rooms, a Turkish bath and emotional shower and there is also a gym available to all guests.
If you wanted to venture out of the hotel and enjoy the sea the hotel has a beach club that also has a bar and restaurant and you have complimentary use of sun loungers down there and complimentary 10-minute boat transfers from Amalfi.

How to get there
Fly direct with British Airways into Naples, from here take the motorway A3 from Naples following direction to Vietri sul Mare, and then they have to take the “Statale Amalfitana 163” towards Amalfi. Amalfi is 24km from Vietri, however from Naples is 75 minutes by car.
