Bali’s climate is warm and humid, temperatures averaging between 21°C and 31°C. Short bursts of rain occur from November until April, making the velvet green landscape come alive. April to October is the dry season, although in hilly Ubud, you rarely feel too hot.
Festival periods can get busier. In Ubud, however, you never feel the crowds. This is the advantage Ubud has over the south coast area that can get packed to bursting around August, Christmas and New Year.

Mandapa boasts about being the closest resort to the Ayun river, and because of that it truly creates a peaceful, jungle-like atmosphere. The suites and villas are spacious, modern, and impeccably designed. Each room is unique No room is the same as each room has a different piece of art which was hand painted on premises by a local artist depicting some of Bali's most beautiful landscapes. The service is incomparable and their restaurant, Kubu, is rated #1 on trip advisor. But what I will remember the most is the architecture and surrounding landscape. The whole resort marries stone, greenery, and the use of light perfectly. I highly recommend looking up at the main buildings at night. But during the day, taking in the sweeping, uninterrupted views of the jungle will calm you instantly.

The warm welcome and a stunning introductory view overlooking the resort is the beginning of what can only be described as a perfect stay in Mandapa. Start your day with complimentary yoga in the rice paddies, followed by an adrenaline filled afternoon white water rafting on the Ayung river which snakes around the resort. To complete this perfect day sit back and relax in an intimate cocoon at the riverside Kubu restaurant. This Balinese village is impressive from beginning to end.

This is such a wonderful property that I highly recommend staying at. The hotel is located just a 15 minute drive from the centre of Ubud and is very much hidden amongst the lush greenery. The attention to detail here was excellent - the rooms are very spacious and beautifully designed with plenty of traditional Balinese influence in the architecture and artwork. Most of the suites and villas also have amazing views across the property's rice paddies and the surrounding forest. I was particularly impressed with the hotel's kids club as they've made sure to make all of the activities educational.
